Mightyeagle, sadly Phil won't be bias towards South, i hope Phil doesn't sink the boot in! I also support a 30 minute after game phone-in from supporters who attended other games and their thoughts, this was done by another station some time ago and became good listening. As always, good work Phil.

A bit less of the "Smithfield Crash Clangers" and "Hilton Hotel Ten Dollar Pot and Parma Tuesdays Play of the Day" would be appreciated, as would more commentators (like Jon Symonds and John Nankivell) who actually call the game and can identify even lesser known players, rather than commentators who do a version of Rex Hunt.
I think we could use some more analysis - I've rarely heard descriptions of individual match ups and who's winning them, or an analysis of game plans.
And I'd also suggest that playing the club songs before games is not terribly good radio. Play them under a preview if at all, but they're not great quality listening on their own and don't create atmosphere.
I'm extremely thankful we have the broadcasts but I also think the standard could be raised without too much more effort.

I very much doubt that - he wasn't biased in matches involving Eagles before he was at South.

Agree with most, more around the ground scores (especially helpful when you're a photographer trying to cover 3 games played at the same time and are doing a mad dash between grounds), after match talk back that goes till 6pm and no stupid nicknames for players like some on RPH do when trying to do Rex Hunt impressions.
I know 90% of SANFL players but have no idea what's going on half the time, hate to think how it would be for a person who doesn't follow the SANFL as passionately as we do as they'd have no idea what's going on. :?
I won't mention any commentators or radio stations in specific but lets just say Ive been very happy with LifeFMs calls.

Agree with pretty much everything that's been said.

In particular, the " xyz sponsor Crash Clangers" etc are especially annoying, as are the stupid nicknames that I can't understand. If I'm listening to a game that doesn't involve the roosters, and sometimes even if it IS the North game being covered, I'm completely at a loss about who is being talked about.

On the other hand, it's great to have a radio service, so thanks for bringing us the game. Would really love to hear the "after the siren" coverage extend way after 5pm, especially with callers.

Like the feedback, I'm with JAS would love to hear ALL the grade scores. More around the grounds as well.

Apart from that, just glad to hear the footy on the radio !

But Phil wasn't in a position of power with the Eagles like he is with South. It's like Eddie calling Collingwood games when president.

One thing I would like to see is the radio stations NOT call the game that is on the ABC.

Surely it shouldn't be too difficult...afterall Jimmy can get his parents to text scores to America so that he can post them on here for everyone. :D

Great work Phil, I've always loved listening to LifeFM, great local footy coverage.

One complaint I have (not just with LifeFM but ALL footy coverage on radio) is the lack of score updates from the game currently being covered. Sometimes if you switch on halfway through a quarter and there isn't a score for a while, you can wait for what seems like ages to hear how your team's doing.

Something trivial I know, but important nonetheless.

Sadly last year if they were commentating one of our westies games they were full of clash clangers, lets hope we improve this year and half our quota of clash clangers that filled the Life FM airwaves

how about doing SODER type interviews

perrie boots 10 goals in a game, send a roving reporter down to the goal-square......

around the ground...........go around the ground at half time and interview the fans in the outer about their thoughts on whats going on, plus the after match calls

I'm with JTC on this one, perhaps some of the more enlightened members from here could be used to make the occasional comments etc, thoughts on the game etc etc, making it a more supporter based commentary on occasions, really however, I have seen nothing wrong with the commentary over the last few seasons, but new ideas always help. Keep up the good work

I don't want any media on the field eg Chambo's 100th last year, or crowd for that matter, it'll turn into a circus. I think if there are to be supporter interviews/grabs it should be before and after the game, I don't see how it can fit in during the match.
Around the grounds updates including a quick summary of other games is more important at 1/2 time and a summary of the game at hand. I agree with what's been said about sponsers though, it sounds pretty stupid sometimes.

While they might be annoying... if they pay for the coverage, then I'll gladly suffer them.
