I am an Essendon supporter and I couldnt be happier with the appointment of Matthew Knights.

You're the first I've heard say that, as a Bombers supporter I was totally dumbfounded when I heard the appointment, and I've seen/heard nothing since to change that feeling.

I hope I am proven wrong, but if I had a crystal ball it would be showing bottom 4 for 08 & 09, and another new coach part way through '09.

I know its only pre-season cup, but Essendon without alot of guns tonight performed magnificently.
I still believe alot will be eating humble pie at the end of 2008. Especially all those Magpies supporters here in the SANFL.

Except gor Hille they lack ruck quality, they lack class and speed in the midfield, and I have ?? over their defence, IMO both Mal Michael and McPhee struggle with the modern game

Obviously the forward structure is the club's strength, however, given their below par midfield, it does make life harder for their forwards

Rather than hanging from the rafters, I was thinking that in '08 we had something to build on - a far better predicament than Essendon and the Crows find themselves in.

Im far from a crows supporter Devil and as for following a side when the chips are down, i have followed and been an active member OF ONE CLUB ALL MY LIFE and only seen a single premiership. You should go searching for your other eye Devil it might help you see clearer. Time will tell which clubs are in better predicament!

I can't see it happening over night, what i can see is Knights has a very good understanding of youngsters and i believe these youngsters will develope into bigger and better footballers under someone like Matthew as shown last night.
I know its only pre season and theirs alot of pressure on him from the likes of people like you D.
I don't think that would concern Matthew at all because people like you are very negative, you wouldn't have a positive bone in your body and you know nothing about Matthew.
He is a very positive person and knows more about football than both you and i put together.
As for the Power having something to build on in 08, yeh start with smaller losing margins!!

I think coming 2nd in the AFL competition is quite a bigger achievement than coming last in the SANFL!!
