Carlton knocked off Port in the end. Carlton had a fairly strong team though and Port played quite a few kids.

Carlton are a super NAB team though. 8)

I hear the Blues have become premiership favourites due to the play of Darren Pfeiffer.

I doubt it, he'll probably have a really poor influence on the younger Carlton players after celebrating tonight's win and a couple will no doubt get arrested as a result.

Seriously, he has a very poor off field record, and is extremely fortunate that Carlton picked him up. Clubs that care about the quality of their people/players aren't interested in someone like Pfeiffer.

Port are crap, Geelong are great.
Good to see things haven't changed from 2007!

Geelong should be allowed to field their VFL team for this comp.

Listening to some of the first half and pre game of the Port v Carlton game I have no idea why the rest of the competition is rocking up as apparantley Port have the 2008 premiership already. Cant beat a Juddless Carlton at home but apparanltey the premiership is a shoe in.
Honestly, does anyone with something to do with that club (be it support, play or coach) have to pass an acreddited moron test before they get a gig? :?

Yes, and apart from that, although he gets the ball, his disposal is poor. Today he tended handball to players already in trouble. I think Norwood will benefit from weeding out players of that ilk - talented, but too interested in partying to knuckle down and deliver. I don't think Carlton will gain from drafting him.
EPIGENETICS - Lamarck was right!

Let's make it mandatory when they play the Crows - every little helps!

Some of their weird arse supporters who commentate on 5AAwful.
I think Russell Ebert and Brendon Lade are employed by the club too but I could be wrong.

Reminded me of how sweet the RECORD victory of 119 points in the Grand Final was last year.
Hopefully the Cats go for 179 points in 2008.

I've noticed not all clubs (in fact most) are no longer wearing shorts with the AFL logo down the side. Anyone know why this is and if there has been an official change in AFL policy regarding this?
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Thats a silly call Wedge, no one has predicted Port to win the flag this year, i think the bookies have Geelong at around $3 and Port at $11, and they know...........
Port didnt expect to be there last year, not sure who you support but Geelong would have beaten the 3rd, 4th & 5th side by over 10 goals and then some, i agree 119 is shamefull but getting there was more of a dollar turn over for the club than actually winning, thats all they could have asked for especially after there mid season.

New manufacturers of AFL shorts.
Some clubs,STK for one, still have stripes down the side but have their logo at the bottom
while the AFL logo has gone to the front of the shorts.
Looks crap as now the shorts look even bigger than they are.
Is the AFL going for a basketball look, in line with the rule changes?
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

lol, in what way. You like to talk up all your Norwood boys, Pfeiffer, Campbell and Meesen, yet none of them are anything special, and in Pfeiffer's case he could have been one of the leading young players in the competition if it wasn't for his off field problems. Hes only got himself to blame, and is extremely lucky to have been given another chance, who should be surprised that it was Carlton to pick him up though after they picked up Angwin in a similar situation (not saying Pfeiffer's off field problems were as bad as Angwin but its a similar situation.

I like your passion mate, but you really need to get some perspective.

He could still be, he's on an AFL list, Carlton obviously think that despite his off field troubles in the past he's too good a talent to ignore. Seriously, despite the fact he hasn't even made his debut, and even though he was delisted because of his behavior, the Blues still opted to draft him, it shows you just how much Carlton rate him.
