Footy Statues

Postby Ian » Sun Feb 10, 2008 6:43 pm

I picked this up today, I had to order it and pay a $5 deposit. The bloke that makes them is a Centrals/Power supporter, he carries heaps of Power/Crows ones in stock, but will make any design you want. He's located upstairs at the Fishermans warf Markets, Port adelaide, and @ $15 ea they are pretty good value.

He's about 320mm (1'1") tall

Just to let you know, the paint is cracking after a year or so - was thinking I might have to visit that guy again for a touch-up*

He's had a Carlton one there for a while, waiting for whoever ordered it to pick it up......that's why he now wants a $5 deposit with orders. Not sure about the round ball game, might look a bit strange with a footy under a soccer players arm.

The Swan Reach Hotel did it, late '80s-early '90s. When each team was eliminated, the statue would be turned around to face the wall.

I used to have one of these guys...his name was Jack!
Once upon a time he went for a "holiday" around Australia.
Until this day he is still missing, presumed smashed into a million pieces.
Damn, I should have paid that ransom!
Failure is only the opportunity to begin again more intelligently.

I have seen all ten in a bar at someones house and they have it set up as a league ladder !!!

If you are wondering why the ten it is because he has had them that long he still has the Woodville one who sits by himself in the corner !!!
It is what it is !!!

The Blanchetown pub used to do this in the front bar, but unfortunately no longer.
