Early days & round 1 NAB Cup is meaningless in the context of the season but, still, what great signs 8)

I thought Sellar was 5 years away from being able to play AFL?

Sellar, Symes, Tippett, Mackay, Vince, Maric, Campbell, Douglas & Moran all showed something .... none of them have played much for us before.

Apart from all that, the style of footy was great

Well done lads

Of course there is one major word that needs to be used here - FEBRUARY

Given that though there were some good points for the tri-colours

- NATHAN BOCK- has the ability to be the best CHB in the AFL
- James Sellar can mark and present well, just dont know about the kicking with him and Gill in the same forward line
- Kirk Tippett looks as if he could make it as an AFL player
- The older players (Goodwin, McLeod, Edwards) are still there and will always be a positive in whatever position they play
- Brad Symes has an AFL body is is a great pick up for the Crows.
- Bryce Campbell provides great defensive skills , but my impression is that with the ball he is half a step slow

For the Maggies
- A couple of their bigger name players (Fraser and Pendelbury) had shockers
- Young lad Anthony was far from disgraced out there
- Can be happy that this is the time of the year to play like that...

Might have to look at my ladder for '08 (Crows up to 11th....)

Silly Fool him!
I married my partner, following teams very opposite ends of the SANFL ladder! Much more exciting. I loved nothing more than when my team beat his, going into his sides clubrooms and sing'n my sides teamsong! Also made for some GREAT betting DETS!

Fair enough, and I willingly accept my wife's leaning towards the Power, due to family affiliations, and even support them in sympathy when they are not playing the Crows. She returns the favour. She did swap from Sturt to Norwood though - she was living in Unley when we met.

IMO Campbell will struggle, MckAY will in time be a gun, Vince and Proplyzia were outstanding, Symes was very good over the journey

Sellar and Tippett have something to build on

On Sellar, maybe he is better suited to playing AFL footy rather than SANFL footy which is not as quick or clean

Do you ever read the AFL topics on here, there are quite a few Richmond, Collingwood, Geelong, Sydney, Essendon supporters living in SA on this site alone.

good style of footy, play on at all cost

isn't it nice to see the young blokes leading the way

Sellar, VB, Vince, Tippettn Symes and Maric

Why did Port let Symes go??

Not quite. The Crows were prepared to give him a one year contract, he threatened to leave unless he got a longer one, and they spelled out their policy and left him to make his choice.

I thought that he was offered 2, but wanted 3 years.

Whatever - I'm not sure, but in the end he was left to take it or leave it, which was appropriate.

I'm hearing this a lot tonight and I don't know why. It was very windy, and he had 1 or 2 shocking attempts from one side, but his kicking is on the whole very good and I'm not concerned at all.
