Edwards and James spent a lot of time in defence and DJ spent the second half at FF

Shane Ellen moved to HB in the second half and I don't think Smart played at HF much

Goody was running with their midfielders

Seen it and sorry still goin with what I think !!!

Anyways he shouldnt play up forward - out of the current midfield group Edwards and Thomson are better forward options IMO !!!
It is what it is !!!

Goodwin better suited to half back, could play a similar role to Mcleod if needed. He is not a strong enough grab to be a forward target and his strength is his ability to run and break lines. I think we will still see him spend most of his time in the midfield for the next couple of years at least.

it's time the club starts putting more midfirld responsibility on VB, Knights, Proplyzia and Radar, yo a lesser extent, Douglas and Symes.... to enable this, Goody and Edwards will spend less time in the middle

No point doing this in Goody's and Edward's final year, this would be negligent

Goody spending less time in the midfield may prolong his career by another season or two

I am constantly amused at how a simple player and list development strategy comes under fire

Laidley plays Boomer Harvey across HF most of last year, Eagles play cousins across HF last 2 years, Johnson from WB has played forward last two years, Lappin from lions played across HF most of last year, no eyebrow is lifted

However, the crows can never win, if we play Goody extensively in the middle and he breaks down, than mumbles would be attacked for poor player management, especially given the rule changes and speed of the modern game

some mwmbwesa on this site are just too predictable with their attacks

As was Cousins the year before. Rested very rarely at HF. But you are right to an extent. Cousins would have finished his career as a small forward if he had played like most hoped (For the next 5-6 years)

If Symes is in the midfield, you are probably already 15 goals down. Not a midfielder. Also not hard enough.

Syd

Would you be more inclined to use Goodwin across the forward line or across the back line as he is fazed out of the middle ???

I like him across the back line as his kick is still very penatrating - much more so than Zoomer who will also be fazed out of the middle in the next year or so !!!
It is what it is !!!

Symes looked pretty good in the middle tonight

Chocco is the only bloke who believes he is not a midfielder, Symes played all his junior footy as a midfielder and most of his footy with the dogs in the SANFL on the ball

Maybe a lack of foresight from williams

Proplyzia, Vince, Radar, VB, Symes, Dougals all looked comfortable in the middle, Goody four goals up forward

one nil to NC

Dutchy honestly, Boomer played the majority of the year across HF, I went to 6 live Kanga's games last year and he had pinched hit at best in the middle

Goodwin with his skills will be dangerous up forward. But I would still like to see him in the midfield and push forward. Although he did alright last night.
