In all seriousness I always refer to grounds by their original names but I am proud to associate Coopers with Norwood Oval because they have strong ties in the area and with our club.

I also would never buy any beer except Coopers out of loyalty and the fact that Coopers make the best beer on planet earth !
The Coopers family are the salt of the earth in my humble opinion.

I also buy product from Norwood sponsors almost always.

On a similar note I was totally disgusted when the SANFL did not buy their scoreboard from Clipsal . That was a disgrace !

It's the money that counts.

Luckily it wasnt the "HouseMartins" Oval, or they'd have to park the 'caravan of love' up at the playground end*

Clubs gotta do what they can in this day and age. If sturt are going to sell the naming rights then so be it. Nothing out of the ordinary there.

OK, my turn...

Is there any truth in the rumour that when Mark Soderstrom was attempting to play for $trut his player sponsor was "The Mars Bar"

I heard that this morning and was told it's "dead set"

And Soders was NOT impressed.

100% truth. I was given the impression that it was done as a shit stir.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

The Clipsal (or Mistral now) screen is IMO one of the worst out there in terms of picture quality. The Adelaide Oval one is attrocious - always seems to have pixels drop out and flickers. Was glad the SANFL did not use them for the AAMI Stadium screens.
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

Clipsal's not Australian owned anymore, but Mistral make a big screen.

Not sure what big screens have to do with this topic...but while we're talking about it, I had some involvement with Clipsal Vision at its inception, at the time they were using the best technology for daylight projection, viewing angle etc. If you look at the Footy Park screen you'll notice that everything is squashed. Is that a good result!
Now back on topic please.
House Brothers Oval is for home match day only.
Not a total sellout like Broadspectrum Oval...permanent!
Whatever, it's all about bucks and keeping our beloved teams alive in the SANFL.

On Tuesdays we call it Unley Oval and on Saturday ( presuming it is a home game ) we call it Nelson Sports Store Oval...or whatever ?

If that's the case, I'm suprised it wasn't called the Clipsal Tunnel Vision then Rucci

Seriously - if an SANFL club can raise some $$$$ selling naming rights good on them I say I don't think the Oval's name ends up being as big a deal as it seems when it first gets sold.
