RIP Bruce Weber

All discussions to do with the SANFL

What?? How the hell can you take offence at the Webber BBQ line? It was harmless. This is getting ridiculous. This is clearly a case of a moderator letting his trigger finger go to his head. Enjoy the big hole you've dug for yourself.

Seriously only a Port supporter wouldn't see the humour in that sarcastic post of mine!

P.S. It is the Port AFL bid that caused the Crows to be formed hastily and before the SANFL planned to enter a team under their terms which has now denied the Crows the chance to get young Gibbs under the father son rule and you lot reakon Webber has nothing to answer for? Ask the bays fans then!

You have missed the point by so far its not even funny anymore. Drebin start a new topic called "Ports AFL bid" or "Bruce weber and football politics" or "the failed bid" or "port are evil" etc etc. Then you can discuss that matter all you want. The issue is not that I believe or any other mods believe he has nothing to answer for. But the issue is that he has just passed away and insulting and slagging off at the guy is not appropriate. What you have just stated in your last post would make for an excellent discussion, but not here, in another topic. Which is point that has been pushed here. It should not have to be spelled out for you.

Geez Stan give some of us credit and stop treating us like uneducated school kids - no you don't have to spell it out for us. Half the reason this thread dragged on is because you deleted some posts and caused more emotive (and IMO) sarcastic and humerous responses. It was his death (sad and untimely as it was) that has refreshed this debate and personally I saw nothing in any post that was over the top nor defamatory- certainly not the bit you deleted from my post!

I wanted to mention the phrase "holier than thou" but I'm not sure you would get the context I was to put it in?

Drebin, mention what you like. I was just trying to let you know that you can put that stuff up here just not in that topic, and in the process gone slighly of on a tanget with my own response, but if you want to make a new topic, call it whatever then you can post that as much as you want. Just probably not in a topic that boon made call RIP - bruce weber. If I offended you i applogise for it, but I still believe that those sort of comments have a time, not matter how much tongue in cheek the poster feels they have put in.

Hi all,
Just letting you know that this issue has been discussed at length in the moderators forum and it was general concensus (a few disagreed and who those are is irrelevent) that the right thing was done in getting rid of some posts which were found offensive.
Please don't take the issue up with moderators, I picked the majority of the moderators so if there is any blame and you have any issues it all falls to me.
I'm happy with this site to have decisions made by a majority of the mods as I think I've selected a good team of people from various backgrounds who follow every club in the SANFL.

If anyone feel that the wrong decision has been made then the way to go about changing things is to let me know you're interested in becoming a moderator, I'll pass your interest onto the rest of the mods and if a majority are in agreeance you can join us in helping shape what is and is not acceptable on this forum. I'd also like to pass my appreciation onto the person who felt agrieved by the situation and advised me by PM, I've been burnt before by some people just outwarding venting their anger on other boards at decisions that have been made without seeking explanations.

Just on the job the moderators have done overall so far, I'm extremely happy as this forum has not degenerated into an emarassing rabble like some other forums I've been involved with or watched have over the year and IMHO its travelling beautifully at the moment.

Cheers,
Wedgie.

Hit a raw nerve did I magpiespower?

Seriously only a Port supporter wouldn't see the humour in that sarcastic post of mine!

It was no 'Springtime for Hitler,' that's for sure.

But don't worry - I got the sarcasm the first time, second time and however many times you posted in this thread.

Wedgie, I think this is a great site and thank all of the moderators for their work in keeping it going (inlcuding Stan). I do think Stan went a dit far. And I do think it is a good idea to debate the role of the moderator so we all understand their role and how far we can go in our posts.

As a final comment - I hope people make fun of me after I die.
We used to be good :-(

Ok.

No more posts about ANYTHING in here. If you haven't said your condolences, too bad.
