Following what soccer teams have done for decades, especially International teams...
Not a bad idea, and something to build tradition on...

We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

I was a bit worried about this until I realised it was an AFL initiative rather than a GFC idea. Geelong proved last year that when they get it right mentally they are very hard to stop. If we get ahead of ourselves even slightly, other clubs will go straight past us.

I like the idea of reserving it for the players but the club could have generated some real revenue there.

I sense a friendly wager in the offing...

If Essendon take the spoon in 2008, I buy you a bottle of Grants Whiskey. If Carlton 'win' it, you buy me the same. If neither side finishes last, we meet somewhere and go halves in a bottle to celebrate?

I too thought this would make the Cats a laughing stock (a la St Kilda crest), until I read it is an AFL inititiative that will be ongoing...

At least you know Collingwood won't have to wear it then.

What is the game coming to? Does Steve King get the right to wear one on his ST.Kilda jumper as a premiership player like the reigning F1 champ takes his No1 plate with him even if he changes to another team.
for my vote= Tacky
