I've got a feeling that under some of the naming rights approvals by Councils, the Council takes a cut of the $$$ as well. Hamra Homes springs to mind. I see Unley Council or Sturt make no mention of this.

Also, the price quoted seems low - is it accurate?

Point of order
- Allan Hickinbotham Oval at Noarlunga is not a sponsorship arrangement.
- wish it was.

So why is it called Hickinbotham Oval? Maybe it should be renamed Taxpayers Park considering a previous State Govt poured a lot of money into the " multi sport facility " .

I've never liked calling a ground by its sponsor's name for two reasons.
1/ The sponsor pays the club for naming rights not me.
When I get a big fat cheque from a sponsor, only then, will I
start calling it by its new name.
2/ Tradition.

Now that my team is doing it, I will call the ground by its new sponsor .
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

IMO yep. If there's money to be had...

How often do you refer to a Oval as the sponsored name ? Coopers stadium, Challenge Recruitment Oval, Hamra Homes Oval, Hickinbotham Oval, Broadspectrum. They are still Norwood, the Bay, 'lizbeth, South & Richmond to me....

If someone offered North the money would you not be willing to take it ?

I can't see anyone allowing Adelaide Oval naming rights to be sold though...

Just right click the image, "save as" onto your hard drive.
Then you can import it as your avatar.

I'm glad someone noticed my nice Avatar :)
