The AFL stretcher rule re 20mins off the ground is to avoid teams using it to slow down play tactic as much as for player welfare.

Id suggest after this it will be introduced for next season, it seems to exist everywhere else for player safety and to stop it being used as a tactic. Id say they will have a look at changing it at seasons end which would be a good move.

Its will be interesting to see now everyone has been alerted to it if we see it used a bit more from now on.

I thought that's why they brought in the rule about "if you bring the stretcher on to the ground, the player must leave on it" because they thought teams would call for it, stop the game, etc etc....

For god sake can we all get over it. Mckenzie was waived back on by the umpires on day. It was not used as a tactic and the Eagles won fair and square. If you ask me something should be done about the Norwood player that pushed him into the turf when he was clearly in the hands of the trainers. And what about that pathetic little waste of space that we call the field umpire who was right on the scene and yet did absolutely squat about it. In my opinion he should be awarded a prize for "TOOL OF THE WEEK" and then a demotion down to reseves grade this week if not suspended all together. That was very poor officiating indeed.
