Could it be said that Central is the Roger Federer of the SANFL. A machine that shows no sign of slowing up.

Oops .... a day late.

It's also interesting that 90 per cent of the respondents are not Bulldogs supporters.

Poor analogy given Federer regularly struggles on clay

But just wanted to prove that reputation counts for nothing once the game starts

Case in point is that Centrals two GF losses (2002 Sturt, 2006 Eagles) were probably the games where they were the strongest favourites whereas their biggest win 2004 v Eagles was suppossed to be the epic "close one".

I for one would be shocked in Doggies were not in 9th straight GF but its not a record for nothing.

Why does that confuse you? People are allowed to have different opinions, even if they do follow the same side.

It confuses me because in Dogs fans eyes we can't talk our team up and then get told to talk our team up.
We lose either way
I suppose its not confusing as such just extremely frustrating and makes people more reluctant to post their views if they cop it either way.

Not like north fans use to no win situations when centrals are involved

Dunno, my memory may be poor but I remember the annual win quite clearly these days, nice improvement on 5 years ago. :D
Not to mention the 46 odd wins prior to 1993 when the comp was a lot stronger.

Unfortunately we've never dominated the comp (unless you count one off years or two year periods but IMHO to claim dominance it woudl have to last much longer than that). On the flip side we've never gone huge periods without winning a flag.

Both fair points. You would not call no premiership for north since 1991 a long period without winning a flag ???

Its hard to see the Dogs missing a Grand Final.

How many AFL players to the dogs have? because i don't think there is that many and maybe if the other SANFL sides had there AFL players, the competition could be alot stronger.

I hope your not bringing up that old chestnut of centrals vs the AFL again.
I think some of the clubs have tried this.
I would love to know the ratio between centrals and the other clubs over the years with AFL players, especially the GFs with the eagles who have probably had more (local) AFL players in their side than any other club.
Clubs just need to be a bit more selective in their recruiting. Some clubs seem to go for the quick fix and dont get the right mix. Other clubs such as the eagles and north and now glenelg are building a team and club not just a side.

Laird will get the Dogs to the GF once again.

But come unstuck against Timmy Chin's resurgent Magpies.

You're still our October b!tches and will be until we're good enough to get there again.

BEEYAAATCH!

How's that?
