SOUTH are in a fortunate situation similar to centrals where they can capitalise and increase membership due to the development going on.

PHIL if you're saying glenelg 2050 premiers then thats being a little too optimistic!!!

Sorry guys but disagree.

We have the unique record of winning the 1st GF ever played at FP in 1974.

We thrashed the Bays in the 1969 GF when Glenelg were Minor Premiers. 1976 we performed the unthinkable. Lost to Glenelg in a complete thrashing just before the Finals. Again lost to them in the '76 QF and then thanks to an inaccurate Glenelg Attack won the right to play the Magpies in the 1976 GF.

As opposed to Sturt in the 1978 GF of course.

...... and in a vain attempt to get things back on topic.

One thing I didn't mention earlier was that the "real" membership income comes from the home match & season ticket sales.

The Home Match Ticket - 10 games with 100% income going to the clubs.

Season tickets all bar about $22 goes to the clubs.

Less for concession holders.

The more of your supporter base you have as members the better chance you have claiming 100% of their gate income as HM or Season Tickets as opposed to on the day admission which goes into a pool & is split 9 ways (after subsidies have been paid to cover clubs where it costs more to put on a home game than the gate receipts received.)

In Souths case we had approx 650 HM & Seasons ticket sales, 100 more than 2006.
At say approx $40 per ticket its $26K into the coffers

Would be more for clubs with larger supporter bases.

Thanks for the info about season tickets Phil, Im constantly amazed at the amount of people that don't get them being under the false impression that the money (or a lot of it) doesn't go to the club.
Clubs should advertise a bit more as to where the money goes as Im sure more people would take them as they're great value.

You're chasing shadows on that one Tas, but if you're content to hold on to your paranoid 'bitch philosophy' then I guess you're also content with so few finals appearances in the last decade and numerous failed coaches. We'll just assume that your obsession with the Sturt Football Club and your percieved need of a 'bitch' comes down to your many failed therapy sessions. I'll give you a late Christmas present, you don't need to hand over your hard earned just to lie down on a couch and talk about loosing 'Tigger' at age 5, forget that Tas, it was only a stuffed tiger, like thay all are, your problem is that for many years you've suffered from a bad case of..............

so sturt won the first ever grand final at footy park is that anymore important than glenelg winning the last ever grand final at the adelaide oval ?? :? :? & it could be reversed in the next year or so, it could be the last ever grand final at footy park & the first 'in the modern era' grand final back at the adelaide oval & if it does happen soon it could well be centrals to win both
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway
