No tears finals time. Saw two close and tight games. Very proud of the team they put up a fight to the very end both games when it could have been easier to lay down and surrender.
The 1st Semi only got beaten through a freak kick on the boundry line that went to there full forward who kick a goal unlike the previous week when Feast choked
Both results could have been different but i believe we would have given North a shake up the following week and won.

let me explain it a way you might understand
1 if sturt didnt have a good season last year the crowds would NOT have show up therefore
2. NO BAND WAGONNERS therefore
3 the family day/membership drive would NOT have been successful and therefore
4. the spike would have NOT accured

In conclusion NO SUCCESS ON FIELD NO BAND WAGONNERS LESS MEMBERS
SUCCESS ON THE FIELD you get BAND WAGONNERS turn up and buy MEMBERSHIPS therefore spike happens or sh1t happens whatever

Simple enough

Hey GJ

Heres a stat about onfield success for ya in the last 10 season Sturt have made the finals 8 times  and Glenelg have made it twice  !!!

The membership may remain the same as last year as a whole but we have had our spike because of the pre-planning !!!
It is what it is !!!

SIMPLE , the appropriate word I think. Actually didnt hear any Glenelg supporters til very late in the game. I am only new to this site and havent mentioned anything about the Elim final , however you would be the only person on earth ( providing you saw the game ) that would think you desrved to win it. Lets not kid ourselves you had a lending hand. I dont think umpires generally lose a game for you , however there was no doubt that was the case that day. Anyway I ajm glad Glenelg are FINALLY competeive it is better for the SANFL, just need Norwood and Port to be abit stronger and it will be sensational crowd wise.

The footy season must be night, talk of bandwaggoners and throwing daggers at each other has commenced.

Seems to be a real rivaly between Sturt and Glenelg fans these days.

With Sturt1's effort last year and the final result I'd go as far as to say the Bays fans are on top at the minute.

Big recruit for Broadies is Saturday March 15, 2008 when SAFooty is coming to Broadview with the Quiz night!
Make sure you're there!

And special thanks for Broadview Footy Club in giving Falcon Chick a great deal to hold it there too. :D

Grant J, I think the point you make is that Sturt's improvement on the field in 2007 has led to an increase in members for 2008? And I believe you're saying that this is a negative thing?

You can call new members band waggoners or whatever you like, but if Sturt's membership count is up due to their on field success, then they have achieved exactly the aim of every single club in the competition (and pretty much in all sports all over the world!) - achieve on-field success and increase membership! And name 1 club who doesn't attract more supporters when they're having a successful season.

Unfortunately that remains to be seen mate ... A) We need to see how these recruits perform as part of the team and B) The aged Norwood fans have been in the cupboard for quite some time, a massive unknown as to how many will return (or are still alive) ...

So one match was won by a freaky kick, and the other one was lost by a mis-kicking freak?

Someone has too stir the pot and make the real passion come out. That is all i was doing last night. It just amused me that some questions were being asked and bb & jimmy were not answering them and i looked like they didn't know what they were talking about, after they had raised the subject of memberships and the Profit & Loss info.

Can't wait for the season to realy start. :)
