oops stuffed up the quote bit but this is BLUE BOYS post relating as to why there are possibly more members now then before.

I think you will find that at our family / presentation day we got alot of people signed up early for 2008 !!!

All the memberships were available on the day and if you didnt actually get it on the day you had all the info to take away with you.

I usually get mine in the preseason as thats what I have alwasy done but the early prompting got my money to them earlier.

A simple YES would suffice James.
(If they were using the wrong tactics last year then they were incompetent)

The answer is simple Strut has a lot of

BAND WAGONNERS

If they didn't do so well last season, even though they crashed and burned or chocked at the business end of the season, the membership wouldn't be so high

You can explain it all you want and as long as you convince yourself that is ok. We both know deep down it's the Band wagonners that has helped with the spike. Just see how your crowds will plumett when you start losing games, that is IF these "members" decide to show up at all.

A Glenelg supporter talking about Bandwaggons !! I saw a lot of new scarfs last year ( I assume you were there watching your side ) and heard a fair bit of arrogance from your supporters . First finals appearance in a very very long time . Maybe consolidate a finals berth consistantly before we hear bandwaggon talk.

Yeah you would have seen plenty on the 2rd Sunday in September there were a few scarfs flying proudly from car windows that day...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

As bb has trouble seeing the whole picture
let me explain it a way you might understand
1 if sturt didnt have a good season last year the crowds would NOT have show up therefore
2. NO BAND WAGONNERS therefore
3 the family day/membership drive would NOT have been successful and therefore
4. the spike would have NOT accured

In conclusion NO SUCCESS ON FIELD NO BAND WAGONNERS LESS MEMBERS
SUCCESS ON THE FIELD you get BAND WAGONNERS turn up and buy MEMBERSHIPS therefore spike happens or sh1t happens whatever

Simple enough
