G'day Wedgie,

Thanks for the constructive feedback, as always! Yes, there have been a couple of Sturt supporters on there of late, but we will work to arrest this disturbing trend  .

You're correct, Todd Wellington and Darryl Smith will be our panellists on "Total SANFL" this Sunday (yes, the Sturt thing again, but this is coincidence - are you putting your hand up to join us on there  )

David was excellent this week, and we hope that a number of outstanding issues were discussed comprehensively for the benefit of all fans.

Cheers

Well I don't think you should put Zac Milbank back on. Has he got a personality to go with his monotone sound? I also wonder sometimes what he actually sees when he watches football - no idea and to think he is a journo!!!

I enjoyed hearing Zac's comments.

Not the most charismatic bloke on Earth, but that's no reason to lay into him.

I don't see you running a community television programme drebin.

Bit harsh Drebin. Zac Milbank has an outstanding knowledge of the SANFL scene, and I (as a member of the C31 panel) can state that Zac has been a very enthusiastic supporter of the C31 show and provided a lot of assistance and support in getting the show off the ground. Please remember that the majority of the C31 panel members are making their television debuts and it will take a few appearances for everyones true personality to become apparent - I think you will discover that Zac will be one of the stars of the show in due course. He (and C31) won't let you down.

Well he may get better (I suppose he was nervous) hopefully and I never mentioned or criticised him for being involved or his enthusiasm (although from his tone you wouldn't pick that!). Nor did I criticise any other member of the panel or the production team. I think the shows are fantastic for the SANFL followers but Chris did ask for feedback. No point if you can only take the accolades - how are you going to improve and add new segments etc if you don't want any "negative"' feedback?

Please go back and read my original post before getting your knickers in a knot. I only criticised Zac Milbank not you, not Chris and not the shows.

P.S. Personally I prefer Doug Robertson - IMO he is much more informative and his match reveiws are more accurate than a lot of the one's I have read from Zac. Again - Personal opinion mind you.

Well done Chris. Unfortunately I'm still watching snow so ended up having to listen to it. Didn't have time to check the manual setting you suggested or I would've missed the whole show altogether. Hopefully get it sorted out by Sunday.

Very good work though.

G'day drebin,

Thanks for the feedback, we always appreciate the fan's thoughts on things.

As mentioned elsewhere, many of the panel are indeed making their television debuts and adjusting to a new medium always takes all of us a little time to adjust. When selecting people I hoped would be involved - not one of whom refused - Zac was among the first. His knowledge and analysis of the SANFL is second to none, and our friendship, stretching back many years to when we were old footy opponents (a story left for another day!), is also highly valued. We are fortunate to have many, many good people involved who all have the SANFL at heart and are all committed to ensuring we raise the bar in our efforts to bring the fans the premier coverage of our great league. It is all the more encouraging that, as one of the youngest members of the panel, his enthusiasm, attention to detail and analytical manner is starting to really shine through.

We are certainly just beginning the journey toward making "Total SANFL" and "SANFL Insight" the most comprehensive SANFL dedicated shows on Adelaide TV and it is a credit to the highly committed and close-knit team involved (of which Doug Robertson is a part, and will be making his debut shortly) that we are having generally really good, positive feedback that we are taking note of. We want to ensure that the fans are finally listened to, as ALL of us - whether on camera, a viewer, a sponsor or a volunteer - are part of the league. We are looking forward immensely to continuing to set - and raise much, much further - the standard of publicity and coverage OUR league deserves.

By all means, send me a PM or an email if anyone has further feedback to offer!

Cheers
Chris

If Zac's going to be one of the stars, I don't hold out much hope for the show. He comes across as a starry-eyed fan, not a commentator. And much too dull for my liking, sorry.

I'm not a football journalist (as Zac is loosely described).

Sorry, but I reckon Zac's a very weak link. Just my opinion, though.

Agree to a degree, I've kind of had a second hand run in with Zac a couple of years ago when his boss threatened me with a law suit but noone can question his or other journo's (like Doug Robertson) love of the SANFL, its not there fault the SANFL doesn't get the coverage it deserves in the Advertiser but more the power that be that think we're more interested in the Power, Crows or Rugby Union.
I meant to catch up with Zac last year to have a yarn with him but didn't get a chance but have since managed to have a chat with Robbo, if any SANFL fan ever sees one of the journos about and they're not busy they're all nice guys and would love to have a chat about the SANFL and rest assured they know fully what goes on at sites like this.

BUT I agree Jessica, Zac did seem a bit out of place on TV, but as REB said, who are we to criticise as at least he and others are willing to give a very hard and daunting job a go. CK jokingly said I could have a go but I (despite having a million opinions) don't think I'd be up to it as I talk to quick and they might need someone on the dump button if I'm on!!
I think CK is on the right track though, as Robbo's coming up soon and he oozes personality, I love his spot on the 5RPH show and I have no doubt people like Phil, Darryl Smith, Paul Blandis, Todd Wellington, Robbie Douglas, etc could all do a great job with this show. And especially CK himself does a very good job IMHO as he's very smooth and professional at keeping the show going.
Perhaps I could come in one doing a "Sam Newman" but I don't think it would be accepted to well by the masses, I think a North Adelaide voice would be best from someomone like Paul Horwood who has a lot better understanding of the game in detail than I do.
BUT if they ever want some controversy and someone who noone understands, Im the man! he he

Thanks for the reply Chris and I hope the show goes well - it is much needed and appreciated so maybe I was little harsh re his (Zac's) football knowledge but as a couple of others have pointed out he is a little dull. Hopefully for his sake and your show's he will get better and add polish but never the less both shows are great - as long as all clubs get equal coverage ala David Wark's appearance. He is very good with promoting norwood and making himself available/accessible to the Norwood members and also to the Media. Hopefully all CEO's will jump at the chance if asked.

I thought not only was Warky a great promotion for Norwood but they was also was a very interesting talker to listen to, I've met Warky on a few occasions and he's always a pleasure to talk to but is also a very interesting person to listen to as he is very intelligent and has some great ideas/thoughts.
His idea re Southport was very simple but something I'd never thought of until he brought up and is definately a line worth pursuing by the SANFL if the AFL don't jump in first.

I reckon Glenn Elliott wouldn't be far behind if at all as far as going as being interesting to listen to on the show too, haven't had any time with any other CEOs but similar interviews with other CEOs or board members would be good.

G'day guys (and Jessica!)

Rest assured, all club CEO's will be asked during the year to be a part of either or both shows. We are certainly committed to having equal coverage of all clubs, when they are available to join us (many thanks to the clubs that have already advised they will be sending players and/or coaches to join us in the near future!). David is certainly a credit to himself and Norwood FC for his openness, accessability and willingess to discuss a range of topics, and he is definitely not alone there, at CEO and senior club level.

This week's show, with only 3 games played, will have extended reviews of all matches, so don't forget to join us this Sunday at midday for the most comprehensive coverage of OUR SANFL!

Southport FC worry me - with their assets and income but I think they are looking at a bigger fish - the AFL. I wonder though if they have looked at a SANFL entry at any stage? They could certainly afford it without having to get too many corporate backers just on income alone.

Think of the money they would have to cheat (I meant entice!) via the salary cap to Qld if they did join if they were playing in a better standard comp than the QAFL State League

Unfortunately I'll be in the country on Sunday at lunch time but will miss this week.
Any thoughts of repeating the shows at some ungodly hour?

Rest assured CK, a lot of us are aware how hard it is to get some clubs officials to get on shows like this so it will be certainly understood if there's not even coverage due to mitigating circumstances. A couple of your panel members have advised me in the past the issues they've had with some.

Wedgie - re. repeating the shows; that one's outside my control  , but by all means give the channel a buzz (not tomorrow!) to see if it can be repeated during the week. You're not the first person to ask me that one, so hopefully it could be looked at in another timeslot.

I sure as sh.t couldn't do the job - but I don't think Zac can, either. But you're right, credit to him for having a go, I guess.

I agree Doug Robertson would be much better. You may not agree with him, but at least he's got an opinion and a bit of flair. Perhaps Zac could ask him for a few pointers across the desk at the Advertiser .....

Really???????
Who was his boss at that stage? Not Mel Mansell? He should be becoming quite accustomed to lawsuits, especially with that front page picture looking up the girl's dress and the mistaken Matthew Slade c.ck-up.
