Good post, we should have got rid of John Reid when Gary Ayers was sacked

I'd be worried about relying on Burton as the main goal scorer - we would need a bigger man up forward too.

Perhaps there is a role for McGregor as a stay at home forward if none of the youngsters comes on fast enough or Hentschell is not fit enough. I wouldn't mind Hentschell at FF and Biglands at CHF if fit but then there is the Ruck to consider.....

IMO Birdman will play that Scott Welsh role as the third forward, a combination of Tippett, Gill, McGregor, Hentchel (when fit) or Bock will play the tall forward role

Birdman has previosly had a 50 goal season playing the lead up forward role

I have recently been in Adelaide for 2 weeks and seen a fair bit of crows training, Tippett looks fantastic on the track, he has been training up forward in the drills, he has a frame / body ready to go, his size will be intimidating for some opposition, excellent contested mark, good speed and agility, and very good when the ball hits the deck

I am predicting, the crows to discover a tall forward, and a very good year for Tippett in 2008

Burton, looks as fit and is moving as free as I have seen him for 2 seasons now

Hentchel, it is still early, however he is doing the majority of the work and by all reports he is pulling up after training with no soreness ar all.

The key to Adelaide's improved scoring capability will be more goals from the smalls, one thing that did impressed me watching Adelaide train was the fitness of Van Berlo, Knights and Douglas, these boys have taken their training to another level and I expect more attacking football from this trio and their games to go to another level

On the small forward role, Jacky, looks like he belongs at AFL level, his positioning during the full length drills is outstanding, he uses his pace to hit the packs or to lead his defender to the ball, he will play round 1

Special mentions to Vince and Maric, Bernie looks very fit, bit more muscle and his skills at times was D Jarman like, while Maric is tearing up the track, looks fit, confident and ready for the challenge to lead the ruck

I returned back to Sydney with a lot of confidence, this rime last year we had half our list in full training, last week, we had 90% of our list complering full training

Biglands
Kenny Mc
Porplyzia
Burton

I think Biglands will have to play forward if the Crows are going to be competitive in 08. Those saying Hentschel are expecting way too much from a bloke coming back from such a horrendous injury.

IMO Biglands and Kenny will struggle to make the side

NC has declared his hand, I believe players like Tippett will get greater opporunity at the expense of senior players

Long season ahead if you think Maric can be a full time ruck option, behind Griffen.

I can see how Vince looks a million bucks at training, but lets see him out there when it matters. His ball release is terrible and all he does is bang it on the boot instead of trying to be creative. He needs to improve his decision making, mainly speeding up the process.

OK FF line: Burton Tippett Stevens
CHF??: Moran, Biglands, Hentschell, Maric, Griffen? - depends who is fit enough and how they have developed since last year - maybe Gill if he has learned to kick!

The little I have seen of Maric on TV makes me wonder if his future is as a KPP rather than a Ruckman.

Sells need game time playing for the Bay A's first...Struggled to hold a position last year due form/injuries. The kid needs a big one in the SANFL and push for a spot in the latter stages of the year.
