Postby bayman » Fri Dec 21, 2007 8:10 pm

i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

.they are training harder this year than in any time in the last 5 yrs. Four sessions per week and a voluntary session on saturday mornings- which is very well attended. I've heard that 20 consecutive sprints up Montifiore hill are common place.

Here come the overuse injuries in June and July.....

Expect them to do well in the trial games and first few rounds of the season (April May) then into the hole of soft tissue injuries and fatigue....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Lots of weight training is not a good thing. Less is more when it comes to the weights.

John Cahill is from the old school, plenty of miles in the legs over pre season, get the endurance base up and then introduce the shorter stuff as the season progresses.

Speaking with a player last night he is very happy with the new system, and of course is hopeful of a climb up the ladder and sees there fitness as being a lot better than this time last year.

Thats exactly the point, unless the guy is massive it will slow his progress. The thing that most people that train 4 plus times a week is that they are skinny.

This is John Cahill we are talking about now, and South have the best that their money can buy. Could we be in for a return of the Panther in 2008?

Been the case for years now and they've always pis*ed it up the wall. Why will 2008 be any different?

Handles looks really fit and Ben Warren is also obviously benefiting from the changed training routines.
We will have a on course for a very much improved season in 2008.
Off field the club's building and facility improvements are really very impressive.
It is looking good for 08.

Because now they're (allegedly) fit, and that hasn't been the case for years.

Topsywaldron if you do make stupid comments, the Panthers have only been making profits of any consequence since 2004 prior to that the club couldn't pay the complete salary cap limit due to lack of funds. The club has never pissed money up against anything as for many many years we had no money and no wall to piss on!
