Granty was extremely apologetic in his report, putting the result at his own feet as a result of increased football expenditure.
I'm not happy, personally, as the junior development program received less attention and funding than at any stage of the past 11 years (my time at the club involved with junior development). This means the increased expenditure was all in the seniors - risky focus to have I think.
I understand that the accountants play tricks to reduce income and profit for good reasons and the club has taken control of 2 new gaming venues this year but the result was surprising to me.

There was some minor works done inside the existing changeroom (rebound ace flooring in the warm up area).
I'm not fussed so much on the result, just the explanation - A $23k loss is a blip on the radar, A reduction in junior spending is concerning.

Just to put this into context - The Football Club lost $23K and the Footballers club made a profit of $150K. I think overall the dogs are still in good shape financially.

But giving the members NO chance to look @ them before the AGM (if true) is truly appalling.
Jimmy, were you being serious when you said you weren't happy?

If that's the case then a ~$130K overall profit is very healthy. After all, that's what these pokie venues are for.

Apparently the SANFL have dramatically reduced the funding for zone development next year as well.

Rushby, you surely can't be serious with this last question or are you just reading into things what you want to see. Give me a break.
