This is a recent update from the Setanta Oz site.

I have heard that Setanta Australia might be showing Liverpool TV, is this true?
EPL rules state that only 2 club channels per country can be broadcast per channel in any territory and we already show MUTV and Chelsea TV. We were certainly keen to broadcast Liverpool TV and looked into doing so, however, at the end of the day, due to the agreements we are in with MUTV and Chelsea TV, we are unable do so. We are disappointed about this and apologise to all the Liverpool fans who may have had their hopes up

Sweet! Should be a cracking game. Agbonlahor to win it for Villa!
Mark Hughes is talking about breaking into the top four this season....... sounds like he belongs in North London.

I could not have planned that. A freebie night out at the b4st4rds, to see the team in Claret & Blue win 4 -0 and b4st4rds captain get sent off.

Bloody Brilliant. Loved every second. Villa Villa Villa.

Derby had their chances too by the looks of the highlights. Sunderland out of the drop zone with than win.

Brett Emerton tried his best to hand the Geordies an equaliser at 2-1 with a disgraceful pass into the 6 yard box forcing a scramble for Friedel. He was also VERY lucky not to have given away a penalty. Rovers finished up 3-1.

Villa had a fair crack at Le Arse in the second half after the Gooners dominated the first half. Villa went up early which only fired up Arsenal who hit back to go in 2-1 up at the half. Villa had all the play in the second half and a couple of awesome chances but couldn't finish.

The other games seemed about as exciting as South Adelaide training on a cold, wet July night.

Good to see Burnely grab another win 3-1 over Charlton to follow up the 3 points earned against leaders Watford mid-week.

Quick wrap

Joe Cole's late winner allowed Chelsea to climb into second place in the Barclays Premier League with a 1-0 win over West Ham at Stamford Bridge. Cole, who began his career with the Hammers, finished a 75th-minute move to deny Alan Curbishley's stubborn side a point.

Paul Scharner spared Titus Bramble's blushes as strugglers Wigan held high-flying Manchester City to a draw in Steve Bruce's first game in charge. Bruce's reign got off to the worst possible start at the JJB Stadium as Bramble's clanger inside the first minute allowed a grateful Geovanni to score the top flight's quickest goal this season. The Latics bounced back after 25 minutes, though, as Austrian Paul Scharner met Jason Koumas' lofted cross with a diving header. But any hopes Wigan had of snatching all three points were dealt a blow two minutes from full-time when Mario Melchiot was dismissed for a wild two-footed lunge on Stephen Ireland.

David Bentley's brilliant brace helped Blackburn to an impressive 3-1 win over Newcastle at Ewood Park. The visitors went ahead a minute after the break as Obafemi Martins' glancing header from Geremi's teasing free-kick flew into the corner of Brad Friedel's net. But Blackburn pulled level seven minutes later in majestic fashion. Charles N'Zogbia fouled Roque Santa Cruz 25 yards from goal and Bentley stepped up to whip the resulting free-kick into the top corner. Martins missed a gilt-edged opportunity to restore Newcastle's lead as he headed over from close range and he was made to pay the ultimate price for his profligacy as Bentley netted his second after 67 minutes. Santa Cruz made a swashbuckling burst and his lay-off fell invitingly into the path of Bentley, whose crisp drive from 25 yards crashed against the post and into the net. Tugay added a third in stoppage time to heap the pressure on Magpies' boss Sam Allardyce.

Anthony Stokes' first Premier League goal two minutes into stoppage time secured a dramatic 1-0 win for Sunderland against basement side Derby at the Stadium of Light. The Republic of Ireland international hooked home from two yards after an almighty goalmouth scramble to ensure maximum points and lift the Black Cats out of the bottom three. Roy Keane's side threatened in the first half through full debutant Andy Cole, Kenwyne Jones and Carlos Edwards but they were unable to sufficiently test Rams stopper Stephen Bywater. Jones had the best opportunity for the hosts but his close range effort crashed against the post in first-half stoppage time. But Sunderland's missed chances mattered little as substitute Stokes struck at the death to deny new Rams boss Paul Jewell a point from his first game.

Tuncay Sanli headed home with seven minutes remaining to salvage a point for Middlesbrough against Reading at the Madjeski Stadium. After an insipid first half the hosts made the breakthrough nine minutes after the break. Dave Kitson latched onto Marcus Hahnemann's long ball and coolly lobbed the onrushing Mark Schwarzer from the edge of the penalty area. But just as it looked like Reading would claim all three points Tuncay popped up to claim a point for Gareth Southgate's side.

Portsmouth stretched their unbeaten run to nine games as they played out an uninspiring goalless draw with Everton at Fratton Park. Harry Redknapp's side were the better side for long periods but they failed to create too many clear openings in front of Tim Howard's goal. In the first half top scorer Benjani Mwaruwari produced a bit of magic to go past Joseph Yobo but the Everton defender recovered sufficiently to restrict the Zimbabwean to a snatched shot that slipped wide.

Quick Wrap

West Brom missed the opportunity to move to the summit of the Championship table after being held to a 1-1 draw by Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. Clinton Morrison's 21st-minute equaliser against the run of play levelled matters after Mark Hudson's own goal had given the Baggies a fortunate lead inside the first 10 minutes. A win would have taken Tony Mowbray's side a point clear of Watford, who were playing in the late kick-off against Bristol City, but they lacked potency in attack without the injured strike duo of Kevin Phillips and Ishmael Miller, who have scored 17 goals between them this season.

New manager Owen Coyle watched his Burnley side claim their second away win of the week as two goals from Andy Gray steered them to an impressive 3-1 victory at stuttering Charlton. Coyle, who masterminded a midweek victory at Championship leaders Watford, watched on as Gray and Chris McCann earned his ever-improving side the points in the first meeting between the teams since 1995. Charlton thought Andy Reid's goal 10 minutes before the break would haul them back into contention. But Gray's penalty 20 minutes from time ensured Coyle maintained his unbeaten start in the hotseat.

Wolves moved up to third thanks to Karl Henry's solitary goal against struggling Preston.

Plymouth beat **** 3-0 at Home Park as Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Krisztian Timar and Nadjim Abdou fired home second-half goals to give Paul Sturrock a comfortable first win in his second spell in charge of Argyle.

Andrew Surman scored a contentious winner from the penalty spot as Southampton beat Leicester 2-1 at the Walkers Stadium and condemned Ian Holloway to his first defeat as Foxes boss. The England Under-21 star sealed the points 11 minutes into the second half after Stephen Clemence was adjudged to have handled the ball in the area. The Foxes had fallen behind after a Stern John strike. John volleyed in acrobatically to give Saints only their second goal in six games, but Andy King unleashed a long-range piledriver in first-half stoppage time which flew into the top corner to bring the Foxes level at the break.

Norwich remain rooted to the bottom of the table following a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Stoke.
The Canaries took an early lead through Darren Huckerby, but goals from Leon Cort and Richard Cresswell were enough to seal maximum points for the Potters.

Sheffield United added to Coventry's woes as Chris Armstrong netted the only goal of the game at the Ricoh Arena in the second half.

Roger Johnson's goal with virtually the last kick of the game salvaged a point for Cardiff in a 2-2 draw at Hull. Steve McPhee had put the Tigers ahead before Steven Thompson equalised, but Richard Garcia's strike appeared to have won the game until Johnson's last-gasp intervention.

Teddy Sheringham inspired Colchester to end their seven-match winless run with a surprise 2-1 victory against Sheffield Wednesday. The former England striker, 41, struck in under a minute to put the visitors ahead against in-form Wednesday. George Elokobi made it two, while Akpo Sodje tapped home to give Brian Laws' side false hope.

Ben Burgess headed a dramatic 91st-minute winner as Blackpool left it late to claim all three points in a 1-0 win against fellow strugglers QPR, while Ipswich and Barnsley played out a goalless draw at Portman Road.

Liverpool 4 - 0 Bolton (Sami Hyypia 17, Fernando Torres 45, Steven Gerrard Pen 56, Ryan Babel 86)

Liverpool surged to their fifth successive victory - scoring 21 goals in the process - and moved into third place in the Premier League with a 4-0 drubbing of Bolton. Sami Hyypia's early glancing header set Liverpool on their way but Bolton's response was spirited and defiant until Fernando Torres grabbed his 11th goal of the season a minute from half-time. Steven Gerrard rammed home the third from the penalty spot after Peter Crouch had been fouled after 54 minutes and Ryan Babel tapped in the fourth with six minutes left. Dirk Kuyt replaced Torres after 76 minutes and the Dutchman helped Gerrard set up Babel for the fourth with six minutes left. The Holland striker's shot across Jaaskelainen was palmed into the path of Kuyt's international team-mate and he side-footed home. And there was still time for Meite to head a Babel effort off the line.

Result

Spurs 2 - 3 Brum Kean (pen) 48, 52: McSheffrey (pen),Jerome 63, Larsson 91: Keane sent off 68 mins. disgraceful decision. No way was this a Red card.
Sebastian Larsson, the former Arsenal striker, produced a stunning injury-time winner as Alex McLeish’s reign at Birmingham City began in triumphant fashion. Larsson, recalled to the starting line-up by McLeish, fired an unstoppable 93rd-minute shot that inflicted a first defeat on Tottenham under Juande Ramos.
It was a curious afternoon for Spurs skipper Robbie Keane, who turned from hero to villain by scoring twice in three minutes to give his side the lead, after they had fallen behind to a Gary McSheffrey penalty, only to then be sent off for a lunging tackle on Fabrice Muamba. Cameron Jerome, the former Cardiff City striker, equalised with a crisp finish before Larsson produced his moment of magic.

How Birmingham survived the first half without conceding, only they will know. Brilliant interplay between Darren Bent and Keane - started by a long ball from Younes Kaboul - saw the Ireland captain jink into the area only to sky his shot from close range with just Maik Taylor to beat.

Aaron Lennon then set up Keane with a cheeky backheel but when he picked out Dimitar Berbatov near the far post the Bulgarian nodded over. Taylor did well to keep out Bent, but his save ricocheted on to the leg of an unwitting Liam Ridgewell who nearly put the ball into his own net.
Birmingham then stunned the home crowd by taking the lead after Kaboul clipped Larsson, with McSheffrey’s penalty going between the legs of Robinson as he dived full-length to his left.
Kaboul, the error-prone Frenchman, was substituted at half-time and his mistakes – he gifted West Ham United a goal last week - must be chipping away at the patience of Ramos.
A perfectly-placed 37th minute free-kick by Gareth Bale was heading straight for the top right corner but Taylor produced a superb stop to keep the visitors ahead at the break.

Birmingham finally buckled under the pressure just four minutes after the interval. Didier Zokora sent Berbatov racing through and, in a echo of Kaboul’s challenge, Johan Djourou tripped the Spurs forward who went tumbling. Keane rifled home the penalty for his 12th goal of the season and just three minutes later the club captain sent Spurs ahead, sidefooting home after Tom Huddlestone’s clever reverse ball found him alone in the area.

McLeish will have been delighted how his side fought back after seemingly being out of the game. On 62 minutes Jerome, the England Under-21 striker, skilfully avoided half-hearted tackles from Michael Dawson and Didier Zokora before producing a clinical finish.

Berbatov saw one effort cleared off the line by Ridgewell and Spurs were dealt another hammer blow in the 68th minute when Keane was given his marching orders for a diving one-legged lunge on Muamba resulted in a straight – and harsh - red card from referee Phil Dowd. Mikael Forssell hit the crossbar from point-blank range late on and Paul Robinson made a smart save from Olivier Kapo but then

Unbelievable. It's not the first time this ref has bought the game into disrepute by faffing about before sending someone off. MAKE THE DECISION YOURSELF OR LET SOMEONE ELSE DO THE JOB!!!!! Even more disturbing was the 4th official smiling at Larsson scored to win the match - should be sacked! Shocking decision as Keano clearly made contact with the ball and never showed his studs at any point. Now we're without our best player for 3 matches which is a travesty.

Anyhoo, once Keano and Bale went off, Spurs fell to pieces. Spurs just need to grow some backbone when defending. As do the fans. Soooo many people talking about jumping ship. What a disgraceful fickle bunch. You stick with your side through thick and thin - it makes the good times sooo much better.

My concern is what will happen when we come up against a side that can really play......ie 3 weeks time against Le Arse.

P.S. Larsson's goal was a CORKER.

Watched it today DA. Birmingham penalty that never was and Keano sending off that never was, turned the game. Maybe if Berbetov had scored when he should have at 2 - 1 things might have been different. You back four look a bit ropey.

Speaking of send off's, how Diouf wasn't given his marching orders in the Liv v Bolton game is beyond me ... Red boys creating plenty of chances but still burning a hefty percentage of them ... Won't be able to afford that luxury against the big boys.

Agree with all of those points! I would go as far to say our back four is USELESS!

I think the Clarets are a far better show than Spurs to down the Gunners at the moment. I hope it's televised!

whos playing arsenal on the 5th of jan as there are no premier league games on this day??

It's a 3rd round FA Cup match between Burnley and Arsenal at Turf Moor.

The Clarets are in form at the moment and could cause an upset. Whatever happens, it will be a big money spinner for JTC's boys, especially if it got a TV slot which I hope it does.

FA Cup third round draw:

Preston v ****
Port Vale/Chasetown v Cardiff
Colchester v Peterborough
Bolton v Sheffield United
Blackburn v Coventry
Brighton v Mansfield
Northampton/Walsall v Millwall
Charlton v West Brom
Watford v Crystal Palace
Luton/Nottingham Forest v Liverpool
Plymouth v Hull
Aston Villa v Manchester United
Tranmere v Hereford
Tottenham v Reading
Burnley v Arsenal
Bristol City v Middlesbrough

Fulham v Bristol Rovers
Huddersfield v Birmingham
Horsham/Swansea v Havant & Waterlooville
Sunderland v Wigan
Oxford/Southend v Dagenham & Redbridge
Everton v Oldham
Derby v Sheffield Wednesday

Southampton v Leicester
West Ham v Manchester City
Ipswich v Portsmouth

Wolves v Cambridge
Barnsley v Blackpool
Chelsea v QPR
Stoke v Newcastle

Swindon v Burton Albion/Barnet
Norwich v Bury

Ties to be played on 5/6 January

Interestly, this is the 4th time in the last 7 seasons that Villa and Man U have faced each other in the cup.

Also interesting that 4 matches are all prem league affairs.

Think it is DA. Also, the Clarets are on Sky on Saturday away to Wolves.
