?????? I thought it was pretty obvious - if Collingwood play all their "away" games in Qld it has to mean they are some other teams "home" games, because all Collingwood's home games will be in Melbourne!!

So you actually believe the intestate teams will lose a home game ???.Every club gets to do what they want with their 11 homes games.Anyone who thinks this could possibly happen has absolutley no idea .Take a deep breathe you clowns .Why does everyone lose any sense of reality at the mention of the word Collingwood its pathetic.

*sigh*

Its called an ambit claim RnW (something i thought you might know about). Its a common tactic in negotiation ask for more than you really want or know you can realistically get so when it comes time to negotiate you actually stand more of a chance of getting you realistically want (in this case $$$$$ from the AFL for losing home games in Melbourne. Collingwood have ATM put a proposal to the AFL, so basically they only play games in two cities.

Will it be accepted in its current form? A big fat resounding No, but it gives them a starting point if for one miniscule second the AFL consider their proposal, which they wont because it misses one vital point. The move by Collingwood ain't permanent which is what the AFL want a permanent presence on the Gold Coast by 2010.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Similar to the Brisbane Lions. No Fitzroy mentioned there at all. Should be the Brisbane-Fitzroy Lions.

The official name of the club is in fact the "Brisbane Bears-Fitzroy Australian Football Club". They trade as the Brisbane Lions.
Fitzroy Football Club 1883-2009
VFA: 1884-1896, 1 premiership
VFL-AFL: 1897-1996, 8 premierships
VAFA: 2009 -->

Beware teh devil in the detail there Hondo71, basically the deal is that Colllingwood would play all there interstate "away" games on the gold coast and the rest of their games oin Melbourne. BAsically it would give Collingwood 17 home games a year.....

if you think ZCollingwood are doing this to help the AFL as opposed to themselves think again....

Basically Adelaide, West Coast, Port Power, Freo, Sydney and Brisbane would have to give up a home game so Collingwood can play "away" at the Gold Coast

Like Tassie said - I thought that was obvious too!

Eddie is always trying it on, but nobody else will agree to this one. It was worth a shot - he'd propose Collingwood should get a 5 goal head start in all matches if he thought there was even an extremely remote chance of pulling it off by convincing the AFL it would get bigger crowds to the 'G... :roll:

It's embarrassing Collingwood are even considering this. Whilst it would probably be good for Collingwood $$$ and good for the game in the Gold Coast (at least in the short term), how much of a joke is the AFL with regards to a fair and even competition. They have all these salary caps in place, the draft etc. yet a simple thing such as a fixture can not be arranged to provide a fair and even sporting competition!

Perhaps the Crows can offer up 6 home games on the Adelaide Oval - provided they play an extra 6 away games at AAMI Stadium. Now there's an idea!
