their also may be some ??? over the power forward line

Tredders - doubts on his fitness
White - disenchanted that he did not get traded
Westhoff - will need to add some body weight to be competitive in year 2
Motlop - goes missing in big games

Yeah but you forgot one thing. Port kick goals.

you reckon?? the difference between last year and the season before was they kicked a couple more points than their opposition with 5 or so close games (<than a goal). I think port will have a decent year but think both adelaide and Ports forward lines arent overly potent

Yep. Port were second in points for last season at the end of the minor round and during the second half of the season outscored Geelong.

This time we agree REB, Port's forward line is far more potent than Adelaide's. Their back half is fragile, IMO, but their goal-scoring abilities are very good.

This relies on their older small forwards in Motlop and Rodan repeating their stand-out years and Westhoff not having second year blues

Oh .... and Tredders being fully fit

They had a year out of the box in a lot of areas time will tell if they played above themselves or not

And before anyone gets too excited about this potent forward line think back to the last time they played .....

I didnt pick either in mine, both of them need to convince me more first.
From what i have seen, i rate Sellar marginally ahead of Tippett.

Westhoff will find it tougher in 2008, no doubt. Motlop is a good player though. Rodan played alot in the midfield, will probably do so again.
Ebert is a class act, Tredders will be better than this year (wouldnt be hard!!!).
Throw in Chaddy boy when needed and you have an extremely capable forward line.
Like i said though, backline is VERY suspect, no Wakelin, no Wilson. Midfield needs to toughen up, but far from terrible.

Unfair to blame Port's forwards on the Grand Final thumping IMO, limited opportunities all day.

my point on Marty, he has been recruited as a defender not a midfielder, whether that is HVB or on the last line of defence, I am sure, given match up's, Marty may be required to play deep for sydney as well....

my frustration, people keep on blaming NC for not playing Marty on the wing, Marty will see limited time for Syd on the wing, his primary role will be a defender, whether that is HB or Deep

Syd

Time will tell where he ends up playin as you dont and I dont know what Roos exact thoughts are - If he ends up usin him the same as Mummbles did last year I for one will be very disapointed.

I sure will be watchin Sydneys first round match to see what happens !!!

Last point - Who do we blame then for Marty not playin on the wing last year ???
It is what it is !!!

I saw Tippett in round 1 this year and thought he was gonna be pretty good - then he got injured !!!

I saw Sellar early as well and he had 1 good qtr and didnt have much impact on the game !!!

All that though - I did like both and had both of them in the 22 for next year as we should just bite the bullet and give them both AFL game time.
It is what it is !!!

Listen to what's coming out of West Lakes. They've been raving about Tippett and all it seems Sellar needs a big pre-season just to get into the good books.

I reckon Tippet and Sellar are both a fair way off AFL footy.

Tippett has the build, not sure if he's played enough footy though.

Another senior Crow gone, I can hear the excuses starting already for their inpending poor year. :toimonster:

Don't make excuses, most of the guys that have left are duds anyway, have a crack and back the young blokes, you cant win the flag every year.

It will be interesting as remember they are not re-building...
Because if you were re-building at least you would have something there to start with ;)

Very positive vibes coming out of West Lakes

Fresh attitude and intensity since the broom

May not make the 8 but expect a competitive young team in 2008 is what I hear
