Port have got the Hawks, Cats, Crows, Dogs and Suns in their next 5. Real tough stretch

Really they should be 5-0 after the start they have been given

3-2 is a little closer to the mark.

We've slipped and North have improved, I thought we'd lose that one and the Saints on paper are far better than what they've produced so far, they knocked off GWS @ Engie and there's no way Port could achieve that.

Can't wait to see what Brod says about St Kilda if they don't win one in the next 5 years.

They should be ok. A couple of decent drafts ahead for them. Will cost them a lot but they look quality players.
I’d imagine Butters will have to be traded to bring them all in and they will get a decent bounty for him if they go that way.
The rule changes aren’t coming in at a great time for them though

F**k me, you actually have zero idea.

Haha, take your rose colored glasses off

Last year, Liddy (ordinary) Ramm (untested but not sure he’ll make it) and MacKinlay (how he gets picked is staggering)

Nothing about having rose coloured glasses. It's been explained to you & others multiple times on here the process regarding the draft last yr and you just choose to not listen.

Going into last yr's draft, we had Pick 29 (That was traded for Carlton 2nd rounder this yr). That was done due to Port needing the points for this yr & next.
We had pick 49 & that was traded for a 3rd rounder this yr. That was done due to Port needing the points for this yr & next.
We then had a 4th or 5th rounder that was passed like everyone else - kept list spots free to pick up players in the pre-season that would have slotted into those positions in the draft anyway - null & void.

So the only pick we didnt have last yr that was worthy of being used is the 1st rounder. That was involved in the Luko/Houston trade in what was a swap from our 25 1st rounder for a 1st rounder in 2024 of which we used.

You talk of ramm being untested, is that not the same as every other player in the draft?

He’s worth one of the biggest trades ever but will be interesting to see if it eventuates and who has to concede ground. Not sure where the Dogs or Cats get picks from without trading out some quality players themselves

Your thoughts on the mid season picks Booney?

In 2019 we took Bergman and Georgiades, in 2020 Jones and Lord, in 2021 ( JHF draft ) Sinn, Jackson ( gone ), Visentini and Burgoyne (f/son) 2022 we gave up for Horne-Francis and then took Anastatsopoulos and Lorenz in 2023 before Berry, Whitlock and Moraes in 2024.

So in the 6 years 'around' JHF we took 13 players in the draft.

Mid season picks? Evans has played 27 games, he's coming on, Liddy won't work, Ramm looks promising and Mackinlay is a role player who is by all reports very professional. 50/50 at the moment.

Umpire mic to not pick it up was paying $1.01. Either Butters or Nick Foot (And the AFL) will end up embarassed out of it.

Interesting that on Fireball on Friday Greg Swan was saying that clubs were made aware last year of changes to be made to F/S and NGAs before last years draft t and I got the impression he wants them in this year.

Sounds like Port's 2025 actions may not suit the AFL's 2026 draft processes.

Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I'm betting they are getting changed, but that doesn't mean what Port did won't assist them and give them the flexibility to trade up if they have to for another 1st rounder. Keep in mind we likely have 3 coming in for Butters

I looked, currently 6,24,26,42,49,60

Cochrane, Salopek and ,Rodan

I think Pilot is the year after but I’m not sure if he is the same year

Dont disgree it will help them got Cochrane but like 2026 Diesel prices it is going to cost more than what it did six months ago to get what you want.

Whilst they may have mooted changes they didn't have ( and still don't ) the specifics of those changes.

Ie - Pick 1 is worth 3000 points.

If you have to use no more than 2 picks in the same round and Port use 5 ( 1878 ) + 12 ( 1268 ) - 3146 - What happens to the 146? ( Pick 60 )
