Influential comic artist Sam Kieth had died at age 63 after suffering from Lewy Body Dementia. Aside from co-creating The Sandman he's perhaps best known for creating The Maxx, a weird comic with very unique art that spawned an animated TV series on MTV. Alan Moore loved The Maxx so much he even wrote an issue of it.

Veteran ABC broadcaster James Valentine has died aged 64 after being diagnosed with cancer.
He began his media career in the 1980s and was best known for presenting Afternoons on 702 ABC Radio Sydney for more than 20 years.
Before moving into radio, James played saxophone in the rock band The Models, and presented a children’s television show.
Outside of the ABC, he was the movie reviewer for many years on Showtime and appeared on programs such as Sunrise, Midday and Good Morning Australia.
James was diagnosed with cancer in 2024 and retired in February this year.
He’s survived by his wife Joanne and their two children, Ruby and Roy.

James was the original host of ABC's The Afternoon show from 1987 to 1990, which featured such iconic shoes such as Monkey, The Goodies, DeGrassi, Danger Mouse, Inspector Gadget, You Can't Do That On TV, Roger Ramjet, Count Duckula, Captain Planet and the Planeteers, Bananaman, The Trap Door, The Adventures of Tintin, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Metal Mickey, Secret Valley, etc. etc.Booney wrote:A voice we would all know.
