The South Australian Political Landscape

Labor, Liberal, Greens, Democrats? Here's the place to discuss.

Poll the other day had the Libs at 14% primary. If this was across the board on election day, they’d lose all their seats.

Unfortunately it’s going to be a bloodbath, which will ultimately be no good for anyone.

True, but ONP was around 20% or more, and they will be unlikely to get a single seat as no-one will preference them, so 2PP for Labor skyrockets.

Speirs confirmed … would be hilarious if he ends up with more seats than the Libs.

the state electoral commission could rule him ineligible to run due to his conviction. They have to wait until nomination period has closed which was earlier this evening. Now the electoral commission will start the process of deciding if he can run or not

Good pick up. He thinks he’s eligible because the SA Electoral Commission accepted his nomination, but as you have correctly stated, they will need to assess his nomination before the declaration of candidates.

A political party leader was filmed using a narcotic, was convicted of supplying a narcotic and he'll once more, probably, be the sitting member in a seat.

That's not right.
