Former AFL player and media presenter Warren Tredrea has been given a deadline — by 4 pm Tuesday — to pay $149,000 to the Nine Network (Channel 9) as legal costs tied to his failed unfair dismissal claims and subsequent appeal. If he doesn’t pay or arrange a payment plan, Channel 9 can begin insolvency proceedings against him

PORT Adelaide will be cautious with Jason Horne-Francis ahead of round one, with the star midfielder needing to get through the next month to prove his availability after an injury-hit pre-season.

Horne-Francis had foot surgery in November and has been on a modified training program and last week had a knock to his shoulder that’ll stop him being involved in the Power’s intra club this week.

Power coach Josh Carr told AFL.com.au that the former Kangaroo would play some game time in next week's match simulation with Adelaide, but that he wasn't yet locked in to face North Melbourne for their season-opener.

Every time he posts in this thread, I get excited, only to have it die on the vine.

It's the perfect metaphor for yet another season of Essendon football.

Sounding doubtful each day, not sure he has completed a full week of training this preseason yet, disappointing.

From Twitter

Port Adelaide says Jason Horne-Francis is done for the day with some “awareness” in the foot he had surgery on. Club doesn’t seem overly concerned, but he really only managed a quarter.

Only pre season but geez that footage of the Crows chipping the ball around in their forward 50 back and forth about 5 times, taking uncontested marks was as embarrassing as it gets.

Had Carltons kicking footage earlier this year covered that's for sure.

Harris Andrews spent the first few of years of his career getting embarrassed, coinciding with Brisbane being an extremely bad football team. Fast forward 10 years and he is the best fullback in the league and has captained B2B flags.

Sav & BZT won't be a feature in a couple of years, so the decision to get games into Ramm might look a bit silly now, but the decision to get 40 games into him as early as possible (responsibly, of course), may very well bear significant fruit in 5-7 years time.

Fair point, but I can't really remember Andrews getting embarrassed as much as I remember the Lions being woeful back then.

His numbers in his rookie year (11.6 disposals, 5.3 marks and 1.5 tackles and a Rising Star nomination) line up pretty well with career numbers (13.2, 6.6 & 1.4).

I'm all for the promotion of youth, provided they're ready. Andrews clearly was.
