If you're not playing professionally, then you're an amateur aren't you? Regardless if you're receiving some remuneration.wenchbarwer wrote:Uni need to update their website, they're still preaching amateur status and "for the love of the game"

This is an interesting one. When Uni were a powerhouse it was often commented about the 6-8 "groundskeepers" working at the Uni who may not have had their attendance vigilantly accounted for.wenchbarwer wrote:Uni need to update their website, they're still preaching amateur status and "for the love of the game"Jimmy_041 wrote:Uni recently changed their Constitution to allow payments this year.wenchbarwer wrote:They've announced Wilson-King and Di Sotto, but they don't splash cash, they're amateurs, like the private school clubsThe Hound wrote:Hearing Adelaide Uni are splashing the cash this year, not sure if they have released any recruits yet, however I understand a marquee signing is on the cards

I always assumed the "we don't pay players" was complete fantasy. A couple of years ago i was approached to Coach there and in my research found out it is 100% accurate and that it is in their constitution that there would be $0 to spend. I politely declined the opportunity. What they do have is a lot of teams and a great network and there are plenty of ways to milk a cow.
The ability to pay players certainly will give them an injection and arrest the slide of recent years.

Big in for the Kings in Seb Wauer. Has had a break from footy but could easily have played League footy. Was a top end elite Junior. Will be a great get and a 0 pointer as he went to Pembroke. Great to see the lad back on the field and will certainly strengthen their promotion aspirations.

Now they can pay...they go BANG!!!
Fair effort as he had a huge offer over the border and spoke to his Junior Club in PNU but SPOC I am told made him a very very nice offer. Huge get for the Blacks!
Also means we are likely to have 2 players from Div 3 in the State Team along with one from Div 6.

If he plays in a pocket/forward 50, he'll probably play most weeks. If they push him up the ground, they should run a sweep as to when something breakslocky801 wrote:How long until "Twang" there she goes again.Brodlach wrote:That’s a good get
