Feels like we've got out of gaol a bit getting them all out for 384. Of course, we haven't batted yet...

Yep, the Poms threatened to get a lot more. Will know soon enough how that total stacks up.

In all seriousness with Webster coming in at 8 we should be batting into day four as a minimum
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

The Duckett one was a terrible shot by Weatherald, he may have saved his career if he goes on and makes 50 plus, should be out and never picked again, not up to it.

I think the idea behind Weatherald was he was in form and an aggressive option to partner Khawaja, and with Marnus and Smith to follow. As it turned out, Head was a last minute, unexpected promotion, which worked well and Weatherald, as he did for most of his career with SA, gets a 50 here and a start there, and with no Shield cricket for players to make a cause for themselves, he keeps his spot. With Head looking likely to stay in the opening spot, Weatherald's strike rate is not as necessary for the team. But, he is in at the moment and if he makes runs this Test, he probably books himself the position for next time, which I think is Bangladesh up north for our winter. An NT boy opening the batting in his home Test would be a big drawcard for the locals.

Plays a few nice cut shots at a decent strike rate but I think the selectors need to look elsewhere. Big opportunity for Renshaw or Kelleway (or both, Head can drop back down) to put up some big runs in the latter half of the Shield season now.
