re Head - I don't blame him for laying off the state and Strikers stuff while his career is in full bore. It is working for him - he is excelling - and his run at Adelaide Oval over the last 4 years at international level more than makes up for lack of appearances for SA or the Strikers.

I do think/hope we'll see a fair bit of him after he retires from Test cricket. I wouldn't be surprised if he is one that retires within the next few years and makes the most of the T20 circuit, playing mainly IPL and BBL. I'd be very surprised if he played for anyone else but the Strikers (in Aus). I doubt we'll see many more games from him in the red cap.

Tend to agree with you, he’ll probably retire from international cricket at the top of his game and finish up all together. I wouldn’t begrudge him if he lined his pockets in the IPL while he still can.

I could see him lining up for South Gawler, TTG or Pooraka for his cricket fix once he finishes up.

That is quite possibly the DUMBEST exhibition of batting in the history of Big Bash.
Basically zero game awareness by anyone.
Strikers spinners did very well to be only chasing 153
At 1/48 in the 6th over the ONLY way the Scorchers were gonna win was if the Strikers had a complete brain fade and yep to nobodies surprise that is exactly what happened.
It's hard to take this Big Bash seriously (I never have) when performances like that occur.

So like if the Strikers SUCK and PANIC chasing small totals like this then why in the hell dont they bat 1st then?
All batting 2nd does is expose the mental weakness of a below average batting unit.

When does the Shield Cricket recommence because this stuff is trash

Yeah, there were some very ordinary dismissals from ordinary deliveries, Sandwich and the bloke with two surnames in the same over were diabolical and then the two tailenders that wanted to hit a 12 and win it off their own bat rather than rotate the strike to our opening bowler that didn't get a bowl but can apparently hit a ball.

Apart from the Pontiff, are there any South Aussies in the side? Any chance of getting a decent import? I did like the look of Shamsi though, I reckon he'll cop a hiding at Adelaide Oval though with the short boundaries square of the wicket.

Yeah Pope was the only South Australian born player in the Strikers team last night. I thought the Strikers were on with Pope and Shamsi bowling in partnership, was good to watch at that point, Shamsi is a great pick up. The Scorchers did get away a bit after being 5/87 but I thought 153 was definitely gettable as I stopped watching after the Strikers innings.

I think we overcooked it with the having the twelve year old bowl the last over, Agar could've really punished him but Paris ended up causing enough damage.

Reaching 150+ is a huge psychological difference to only reaching 140 IMO, 7 an over is a work the gaps kinda chase yet 150 seems so much more.

we are poop, I expected us to finish bottom two, there seems to teams that are pooper though or they somehow manage to out-poop us, the standard of fielding is very poor this season from what I've seen so far.

One hand, two cans.

Other hand, snaffles it.

Well played.
