Their driveway and garage is right next to ours. So for their own convenience, the removalists parked their van straddling the mouth of our driveway, blocking my missus in. When she asked them to move it, they tried to negotiate time in which they could leave the van there.

FFS you lazy sods - just drive the van forwards a few more metres. Or, if you really want to bend the laws then park your damn van on the other side of their driveway, facing against the traffic.

I usually enjoy reading your posts but this one isn’t your best work.

Not for one moment am I deflecting the seriousness of the case and what she is going thru (or will go thru for the rest of her life) just an observation that she is choosing to share her journey online, which for old farts like us seems unusual, but maybe that reflects this generation? Maybe she feels she is helping others, either way I wish her well.
