Specialty foods butcher!
Went off them for about 18 months as the quality was going down as prices went up

Given them another go and glad I did

I used to use them too but they dont seem to have any good specials anymore.
I got a delivery yesterday from Meatonline, you must buy a carton which is about 20kgs worth and cut it yourself, but the grass fed T bone i got was amazing $24.5/kg
Also got grass fed Rib eye on the bone, ordered 5 star at $26/kg but they were out of that so they offered me 6 star for $30 down from $36. Havent tried that yet but looks the goods.
They currently have a sale on until Sunday

Nothing wrong with frozen meat as long as you vacuum package it.
Ive even become somewhat of an expert at Air frying from frozen in emergency, allows you have your desired rare to medium on the inside and nicely crusted and cooked fat on the outer

They have weekly specials but not really that cheap

What type/cut of meat have you tried in there from frozen?

Scotch fillets, rump and wagyu rump. I wouldnt do fillet steak, not enough fat content.
Air fryers are pretty variable but i do about 10 -14 minutes at 200 depending on thickness of cut and desired level of pinkness.
Im trying to go back to carnivore lifestyle again, so if im cooking a piece of steak for lunch that im going to microwave again i cook that pretty rare, get a crust on it and the fat rendered and then by the time i zap it for 3min its about medium.
Sometimes a nice slice of garlic butter over the top

As in? Crispy outside, chewy inside? My choice of pork belly can differ to others.

This method never fails.
Take the belly out of the packaging and store in your fridge uncovered for 24 hours. This is key!
Rub salt into the skin, generally they dont score the rind enough and its poorly done, i recommend about 5-8mm apart, a fat max stanley knife is the best for this, pretty much just score again in between the cuts they already made, get plenty of salt in there.
25mins at 200 degrees, dont warm up the air fryer, just straight in
20mins at 150-160 degrees
Perfect everytime.
I prefer to use a belly with no bone.
As a rule the Aldi pork bellys are quite fat and good for this, you dont want a real lean looking belly.

I actually cooked a pig on the spit at the cricket club only last Saturday night, best meat you can get i reckon

I must say, I'm not much of a drumstick fan but whack some G-Fresh Gournet Chicken seasoning on them and 27 minutes in the air-fryer and they're a delicacy, even better when they're about $3 per kilo if you buy more than 3 kilos at Woolies.

Drumsticks are great as a snack if youre going down a bit of a carnivore path, always handy to have in the fridge ready to go so youre not tempted by other crap

I currently rate the Mt Pleasant Butcher very highly, nice and chewy yet moist, if anything maybe a little to much moisture retention.

Minute steak seasoned and put in a food dehydrator, it really is that easy.

Total Knee Replacement day 5 update;

So day 3 (the day the spinal block wore off) and day 4 were a test. I didn't utilise the drugs when they were due, which meant I got sore, quickly!

I was told that sleep would be the most difficult to deal with, hence needing a decent number of weeks off work. I would concur. Night 3 I slept for 2.5 hours over the 12 hours between 6pm to 6am. I took drugs first thing in the morning and got some sleep between 6.30 and 10am.

Night 4 - my last night in hospital. I tried to reduce the frequency of drug taking and simultaneously increase the use of the ice machine (Ice-Man - gold, I want one at home!). That was a huge mistake. Night 4 I would've had 3 hours of sleep solid, and nothing else. As the nurse said to me, 'there are lots of brave people that want to do what you did and they always come back to the drugs'.

So in summary, take the drugs!

Leaving hospital, I was handed a chemist shop worth of drugs.

When I got home, I took more drugs and slept like a baby for 6 hours straight. The best sleep I've had for over 2 years.

I feel like I have a second lease on life now. After 2 years of feeling like sh1t, eating and drinking comfort food because of my terrible sleep I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Whilst everyone will have different reasons for going into a Knee Replacement, I can only recommend it from where I came from. I know it's only day 5 but I can only see the positives that are in front of me. My knee is sore, but not as sore as before the op (I realise that this is because it's medicated). It feels stable, unlike before the op.

A couple of other things. Going to the loo - just annoying! But I think that's because we have a narrow space to navigate a zimmer frame through. Showering is also annoying and again this is because of the shower recess being small and I have to have my knee bent at an odd angle. Anyway, small inconveniences.

I have a need to do a 'restaurant' type review. Hospital was an 8. I don't think there is a way to get more than an 8, given that you move straight to the High Dependency Ward and have to be monitored each 30 minutes during the night. Nursing staff, 8.5. Only a couple of times I had to remind very busy nurses that they'd forgotten a previous request. Each time they were very apologetic and very polite. Food, 9. Amazing food... so much food.... I feel stuffed still. Facilities, 7. Clean and spacious in the private room. There was no Fox or Netflix but I had that on my computer anyway.

I, like you and many of us, are hesitant to pump heavy pain killers in and it's with good reason so I'll always err on under dosing like you did but then you pop a couple and realise they actually work pretty well.

It's to our detriment but it's not a bad approach to take.

My surgeon was pretty happy that I wasn't relying on OsteoEase to get through day to day prior to the operation. I easily could've but decided not to for the same reason you're suggesting. I sort of, put up with it and now I'm glad I did!
