Re: Things that you don't understand
Apparently Bevan Spencer Von Einem is close to death, but the arsehole won’t spill his guts on the other murders he obviously was involved in or finger anyone else who was responsible.
‘The Family’ members will all die without ever being held responsible for the terrible crimes they committed.
Truly disgusting.

They should subject him to the same treatment he and his demented mates inflicted on their victims.Jimmy_041 wrote:Good ****ing riddance to the ****dedja wrote:Apparently Bevan Spencer Von Einem is close to death, but the arsehole won’t spill his guts on the other murders he obviously was involved in or finger anyone else who was responsible.

He is the perfect example of capital punishment. 41 years in prison, the cost to taxpayers is insane.
Should have been put down like the dog he is back in 1985.

To me the problem with Capital punishment is that someone has to end someones life that ended someone else's life.Brodlach wrote:He is the perfect example of capital punishment. 41 years in prison, the cost to taxpayers is insane.

I don't have a problem with it being enforced but I feel for the person that has to do the deed.

I can’t bring myself to agree with capital punishment per se.Lightning McQueen wrote:To me the problem with Capital punishment is that someone has to end someones life that ended someone else's life.Brodlach wrote:He is the perfect example of capital punishment. 41 years in prison, the cost to taxpayers is insane.

That said, i wouldn’t have opposed police accidentally but on purpose fatally wounding Martin Bryant at Port Arthur. I also wouldn’t have minded if ‘prison justice’ had applied to Von Einem, perhaps aided by inadvertent laxes of security to protect him.
Someone I knew well at the time that authorities tried to finger Von Einem for some of the other Family murders after his Kelvin murder conviction was a court reporter, and she told me things that weren’t publicly reported at the time because they were so horrendous.
A truly despicable excuse for a human who paid very little for what he and his depraved mates inflicted on many victims.
Unfortunately we will never know the true level of their depravity and crimes.
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

Re: Things that you don't understand
It's not even about the pain, as poxy as it sounds I've always been a believer of "Do unto to others as you would have them do unto you".Brodlach wrote:I understand point.Lightning McQueen wrote:To me the problem with Capital punishment is that someone has to end someones life that ended someone else's life.Brodlach wrote:He is the perfect example of capital punishment. 41 years in prison, the cost to taxpayers is insane.

I follow this in every facet of life, I'll always let a car in as it is trying to get on a busy road off of a side road or shop, I've never cheated on a partner, I don't lie to people as I'd rather hurt them with the truth than decieve them with a lie, I'm a strong believer in karma and I feel for those that have to execute as who knows what happens on the other side.
I'm by no means the perfect person and I'll never pretend that I am, I have many flaws but I try to be the best version of myself where I can.

Re: Things that you don't understand
Pretty stupid thing to do by this bloke to film the houses, but nevertheless both of Von Einem’s former residences are not that far from my first house, and the house he lived in when he was gaoled was just behind the church I was married in.
Both of these houses are within short walking distance from the corner of the Lower NE Road / Gorge Rd intersection.
I’ve mentioned previously, my wife (way before I met her) lived across the road from Mark Langley when he disappeared and knew his sister.
To think that such a monster lived nearby is horrific.

After watching a few Beaumont mysteries my ex and I were so intrigued that we stayed at Glenelg for a weekend to piece what we could together, it was a really eerie feeling walking past the Phipps house.dedja wrote:Pretty stupid thing to do by this bloke to film the houses, but nevertheless both of Von Einem’s former residences are not that far from my first house, and the house he lived in when he was gaoled was just behind the church I was married in.

There’s been a resurgence in interest in this book for obvious reasons. Debi Marshall has some interesting insights from her past interviews with him.Jimmy_041 wrote:Having lived through that nightmare as a teenage lad, I would happily pull the trigger without the slightest hesitation or regret

Interview on AA this morning was very interesting (and shocking) with the lady that has written a book about the family murderers

Re: Things that you don't understand
When I was at Corrections, the general consensus was this prick basically ran his unit and never had a worry in the world and from all reports, fellow inmates looked up to him and treated him like God as he apparently still had influence all those years after.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.
