36pts.
Felt j drove ball better.
Chip n run game was very good.
Scrubbed 13th. Landed, plugged front bunker. Got out of that and then trickled into back bunker, managed to get out in 1 but missed the 20ft putt. Positive was 2 tough bunker shots and got out.

Re: Daily Golf - Where you are playing and how you go
Par comp yesterday, starting on Back 9 and played some of the best golf Ive played for a while, with 43 off the stick and +1 heading to the Front 9.
Bogey on 1st and 2nd meant Id played 11 holes for 10 bogeys and a par. Then it fell apart sadly, came home in 51 and overall -2.
Enjoyed the experience of playing Sat golf, not so much playing off the blue tees

Blues on the 2nd make it tough, and the par 5 13th, just a very long way to the corner.

Re: Daily Golf - Where you are playing and how you go
It was a bit strange, Blue tees were sometimes only a few metres back from the whites, then others a good 20-25m extra, Ive never played from the upper back tee on the 6th, made it a 190m shot to the middle of the green

Re: Daily Golf - Where you are playing and how you go
On Friday the 21st of November, Yes this Friday! I’m taking on Cancer Council's ‘The Longest Day’ - the ultimate golf challenge. I’ll be testing my skill, strength, and stamina by playing 4 rounds of golf in a single day to raise funds for life saving cancer research. 32kms all walked…….

https://www.longestday.org.au/fundraisers/shaunholland
Here’s why I’ll be doing this;
Cancer has taken an enormous toll on my family. My sister passed away young from undiagnosed Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP). Once she was finally diagnosed, we only had two short years before losing her. In that time, she bravely lived her life—marrying and welcoming two beautiful daughters. Tragically, both girls inherited the same condition. Today, my 23-year-old niece has already had half of her bowel removed as a preventative measure.
Then came my mum’s battle. In 2013, she was diagnosed with stage 4 non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma—incurable but manageable. Just when we thought she had some stability, she found a lump in 2021. It turned out to be stage 3 Hodgkin’s lymphoma. We were told it’s extremely rare to have both cancers. Scans then revealed four additional cancers, the most significant in her spleen. She endured 12 rounds of chemotherapy, 15 radiotherapy treatments, and a frightening bout of pneumonia along the way. Although she eventually reached remission, the pneumonia left her with only 60% lung function, which deeply affects her daily life.
While Mum was fighting for her life, my stepdad began fighting for his. A tiny lump in his throat grew to the size of a golf ball in a week. It was a secondary cancer on his parotid gland. After surgery and 33 rounds of radiotherapy, he survived—but the treatment cost him full function in his jaw. Doctors told him that if he’d waited even a few more days, the outcome would have been completely different.
On top of all of this, my mum has been in and out of hospital every month. And just last week, on Friday, we lost my grandmother, Mum’s mum. It feels like my mum has been dealt blow after blow, and all I want to do is help in any way I can.
Cancer has repeatedly hit my family, and I’ve seen up close the physical, emotional, and financial toll it takes. Through The Longest Day, I’m determined to make a difference for other South Australian families facing cancer. Even the smallest bit of support can help change someone’s story—and that’s why I’m taking part, Cancer has hit us all in some way or another, please give generously to help all the families out there.
Please sponsor me and support my efforts to give back and change lives. One in two Australians will be impacted by cancer by the age of 85 and I want to do something to help change this!
As a majority community funded organisation, Cancer Council relies on the generosity of their supporters to continue saving lives through cancer research, prevention programs, information and support services.
Their work is really important, and I want to do what I can to help. But there is only so much I can do on my own. Any amount you can give makes a difference!
You can also support me by encouraging others to get involved, too. Please email the link to my page to your friends and family, or share it on social media.
Thank you so much for your support - it is truly appreciated.

Brilliant, this is on my to do list one day, go well.

Twilight
Playing off 5
Make a mistake and its day over.
Played with a half bag.
Driver was really trying to exaggerate a tennis forehand topspinner. Hit them nicely. On 15th was left with 70m
Too many 1 pointers
11
Par tomorrow
Hopefully something around -5 or better

Re: Daily Golf - Where you are playing and how you go
Back to Mt Osmond today for another golf day, ambrose with a difference, all 4 tee off then whoever's ball you use doesn't hit and this continues until ball is on green when all 4 can putt. Makes it a bit tougher but also fairer for those groups that dont have a gun in their group.
Bloody cold and windy for most the day but better than working, they are still doing a lot of work on some holes, would avoid for another month or so

-3 back 9
Battled back on back 9, made some in roads but 7th and 9th were scrubs.
Found the front right bunker on 7. Rarely there. Then smashed ball into face of the bunker and watched it pop backwards into water

Re: Daily Golf - Where you are playing and how you go
37pts this morning with a wipe on 12th. That was an unforced error. Tried to run a 6i into green from 150m, pulled it a tad left into bunker. Sand was rock hard so first time in my life took a putter.... took 3 goes to get out
However hitting on a trackman the other day, my 6i which is delofted down to 22.7°, only carries 120m but runs out to 150m. That suits me better. Outside of that error and one yesterday its working for the chip n runs from 140m in
Then on 13th, 115m. Hit a perfect PW, bent down to grab the tee so didnt see it land or spin in towards hole... other lads got a little excited. If it went in, i would have missed jt
Closest ive been for a while.

Re: Daily Golf - Where you are playing and how you go
I Can barely move, my back is killing me, my legs hurt my groins feel like concrete not to mention my shoulders and so on and so forth. However, I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat for a great course.
72 Holes all walked. 31.08kms
Scored actually really well- 75, 77, 77 and 74.
My Final round, 10th Hole my lad rocks up and says, 'Give me a look at your score card, counts my birdies and states, 'I'll give you $20 per birdie for the day, I that stage I had 5, I then went bogey, bogey, he started giving me some lip, I birdied the next 3 in a row and lipped out for a fourth! I had one more making it 9 for the day.
Cancer Council has advised me that with what I raised this year, takes me to $30k in 4 years. Very happy with that.
Some of the stories I've heard from absolute strangers on the back of me doing this actually rips your heart out, I whinge being sore my god some of the things people are going through and I'm whinging it's such a reality check that there are people in far far worse positions than us and we should be grateful for what we have.
I know this sounds really stupid, but at the end of the day I went home and hugged my children with a big lump in my throat, I don't even know why, it was just an emotional day.
This has giving me a little bit of faith again in humanity, i'm sure it will be short lived.
Thank you to all that donated. To those that didn't, its not to late

Stupid $#**%$# game
Getting off the tee ok, but keep making doubles (and worse) from the middle of the fairway.
I am in for a long stint of pain.... it's the thought of a beer or 7 when I finish, that keeps me interested!

Re: Daily Golf - Where you are playing and how you go
Thursday twilight. Front 9
Added the baffler - set 19°.
Played with just driver, baffler, 6i, 8i, 58° and putter.
First drive was good. Baffler knocked it up right side. 6i runner from 130m under the trees, pushed it a fraction and into bunker. First attempt caught the lip, second attempt from a hole was to go back to fairway, bladed it 100m
12pts for the arvo.
Baffler stays for tomorrow.
Just struggle to get going. And my hcp is 4, like GGF for twilight
Just checked and now im 11.4
