Massive Weekends.

Friday Night - Crown with the lads, til 3am.

Saturday Arvo - On the punt with the lads at my local.

Sunday - Golf at my new home club. The previous 2 days perhaps not the ideal preparation, but it is what it is right!?!.

Shattered now, sipping on a cold Corona… think I’m too old for this shit… but I love it!

Got a message last night from a mate telling me to get Melbourne Cup Day off so we can fly over to Flemington and watch his horse run (all expenses paid).

Got in at 5am this morning and grabbed the smartest dude that works in my area and started teaching him the basic fundamentals of my role, game on.

Lonely Planet have listed their top 25 Travel Destinations for 2026 -

https://www.lonelyplanet.com/best-in-tr ... nd-outback

There’s an otherworldly beauty to the Ikara-Flinders Ranges that is unlike anywhere else in the Australian outback. A five-hour drive north of South Australia’s cultured capitalAdelaide (save a detour to riesling country in the verdantClare Valley) and you’ll be rewarded with a sprawling, scrubby, lunarlike landscape.

According to the land’s Traditional Owners, the Adnyamathanha people, the mountainous walls of Ikara (Wilpena Pound) are the bodies of two intertwined Akurra (giant serpents). The pound’s short day hikes snake alongside gum-tree-lined gullies leading to ancient Indigenous rock paintings.

Don't for a minute take for granted how lucky we are to live where we do.

Had an impromptu shindig for my birthday yesterday, I have a photo of my two yongest and two nephews goofing about that's about 16 years old, I always comment about a reinactment whenever it pops up as a memory on FB, yesterday they all brought over clothes that matched the photo and they posed as they did in the original, it destroyed my insides.

Wallaroo. Had an awesome time on the weekend. Great accommodation. Even the storm on Saturday didn't "dampen" our fun.

On AA this morning W Goodings read a stat out on a "trillion" on the back of Apple hitting the $4 Trillion dollar mark in their value, the third company to do so behind Nvidia and Microsoft. The stat helped you ( if if does ) understand what 1 trillion looks like.

1 million seconds ago was 11 days ago.
1 billion seconds ago was 1993.
1 trillion seconds ago was 31,709 year ago.

You dont realise the gap between a billion and a trillion until you read that.

Prick.
Received a message last night telling me that to make sure I'm wearing my best threads as we're in the owners area for the day, it's apparently very hard to gain access to.

Recieved another message this morning form the same person with a video of our foal that was born this morning, we have her first steps, she has a white star on her forehead, gave me a massive chill up the spine.

Driving back from Melbourne with my two boys after seeing Oasis last night.

Amazing show, absolutely buzzing after it…

Best concert I’ve been to.

Don’t Look Back in Anger was absolutely biblical

:)

Free Pulp show next Feb will be the final leg of the Britpop leader triumvirate concert series…

Blur, Oasis and Pulp.

Vietnam Health system

Whilst in Vietnam recently I broke a tooth whilst in DaNang. Spoke to Hotel concierge and they suggested going to DaNang family hospital so $4 Grab ride down there, they send me straight to the International section and I expected to wait for ages. 5 minutes later I’m off for X-rays and told they could do it straight away as they have over 80 dental technicians onsite full time and see hundreds of patients daily. X-rays confirm not one but 2 teeth need work and can have root canals done consisting of a few visits and about $120 each tooth or as we had to head to China 3 days later they could extract them both on the spot. Went for the later option and all up was at the hospital for 50 minutes. Consultation, X-rays, extraction, stitches plus prescriptions for pain killers and antibiotics came to a total of $58. Would you like to pay for that or claim it on your insurance Sir. Here take the cash plus a $10 tip

My sister-in-law broke her leg in Vietnam and said their health system was amazing. Hospital was cleaner and nicer than any hospitals we have here and very professional
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.
