No Tool or AC DC for the Quady or whatever a 5 is?
Already bought No fun at all before Grinspoon was announced otherwise I'd be the same.

Re: Bands coming to Adelaide
Another enjoyable Grinspoon concert on Saturday night, I worked out the fifth in 8 years for me. Was a bit of a rush to get there after cricket and putting the kids to bed got there as they were playing Dead Cat x3. I loved the nostalgic element of the background animations as each song played, especially the old band logos, tour posters and album/single artwork, it all took me back to when I got into Grinspoon which was playing AFL Live 2004 on PS2 and Lost Control was the intro song.
Interesting to see now Metallica on Wednesday night, their set list from Perth they posted on their Instagram (which they usually do) had 15 songs with what looks like a fair bit of filler and they played for 2 and 15 mins. The majority of the comments on the post weren't very positive but as we know Metallica fans can be some of the most fickle music fans in the world.

Re: Bands coming to Adelaide
Grinners were great as always, thought they might play a touch longer tho, the acoustics of the AEC Arena are first class.
Onto Wednesday night, been a bucket list item for too long. Set list looks pretty good to me, presuming they keep it the same.

Setlist looked black album heavy for mine, but we'll see on the night. 3rd time to see them, GA1, pumped.

Re: Bands coming to Adelaide
If you havent got a ticket for tonight and you want to go just come and hang out by the Railway station tram stop.
Number of Metallica fans playing Russian Roulette with the trams ATM - clear from my vantage point from my dingy workstation
Someone's going to be a statistic
The cheap fake T-shirts dont appear to be selling either BTW...

Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

How'd you score a corporate box for the concert? I was talking to a guy at work today and he said he was in a corporate box tonight aswell but didn't know how it all worked as it was all organised by a mate of his.carey wrote:Booney wrote:If you see a bloke in GA1 on crutches, come say G'day.

Re: Bands coming to Adelaide
Awesome night and I think a great set list for a crowd mixed with old metal heads (
) who may have seen Metallica before and people seeing them for the first time.
Leper Messiah ( Master of Puppets ) and King Nothing ( Load ) took me back to some good times in my life, For Whom was a highlight, Fuel, Moth all great along with the Sandman and Nothing Else anthems but for mine Seek and Destroy, Master and The Day that Never Comes were the top end.
During One I stood eyes shut, still, just taking it in so the next time I hear it my mind will go back there.
To the bloke who quipped "Where you going you fat c*nt?" as I wandered by, may your crack head Mrs ruin your life even further than what it appears to have fallen, may your meth face crumble inwards on itself and your fickle attempt at an apology can go f*ck itself.

Re: Bands coming to Adelaide
One was definitely my highlight of the night, incredible!
And them playing Creeping Death (probably my favourite Metallica song) was a highlight too. Three songs off of Ride the Lightning, can't complain about that!

Meth has ruined his life, I didn't need to make it worse.
When he came over and apologized he goes "I work in transport (good, I thought) people call each other fat c*unts all the time and nobody gets offended"
"Well, I don't work in transport and nobody in my workplace calls each other fat c*nts so go f*ck yourself" and waved him ta ta.

Re: Bands coming to Adelaide
Awesome, nostalgic night on Wednesday, first up was so glad I forked out a bit extra to get into GA1, found myself a comfortable position only 25m from the front of the stage which was incredible and made a stadium show feel like an intimate pub gig to a degree.
Evanesence met all expectations and while I probably wouldn't go see them on their own, Im glad ive now seen them live and Amy Lee's voice, wow.
Loved the whole show, Metallica's music was my first introduction to harder rock back in the 80's and it brought back so many feels from back then. For some reason this band and their music is able to reach deep into your emotions, more than any other.
One of my favourite songs of all time by anyone is One, and was completely blow away how good it was live. The production was spot on also to match the song.
I would have loved to hear Unforgiven and Whiskey, but no complaints about the setlist.
While obviously getting on in age and the voices not quite as sharp, their musical craft is still spot on and they obviously still work so hard on being at the top of their game. It was also clear that they loved the whole night, you couldn't miss their genuine happiness to be here.
