Nice innings by Connolly, Short very good (he needed runs to justify his spot) and good from Owen too despite his dismissal being a bit annoying/soft.

Was that Renshaws first game back?
He was handy last night but surely we’ve gone past him and have better options?

Good to see Short finally take his chance too

First game back? It was his second ODI, his debut was in Perth on Sunday and he has been in decent form for Queensland and Australia A of late and was second in the runs in the 24/25 One Day Cup.

Back as in the National team.
He’s always been a good state player but surely we have younger players available?

Does that indicate the national selectors view him as next cab off the rank after Boland? I would've thought there were better options, but I suppose it gives him the opportunity to bowl the house down in the last Shield game before the First Test.

Seems to be a bit of a selectors favourite
