Apparently a couple of broken ribs and unable to play finals was the result, there was no intention to tap the ball whatsoever.Littlelegs wrote:so i am pretty old and out of touch but is that now suspension? a ruckman jumping with knee into a bigger bodied ruckman protecting the space?

Fair enough, he definitely intended to do it, had he of made contact with the ball would there still be an argument.Lightning McQueen wrote:Apparently a couple of broken ribs and unable to play finals was the result, there was no intention to tap the ball whatsoever.Littlelegs wrote:so i am pretty old and out of touch but is that now suspension? a ruckman jumping with knee into a bigger bodied ruckman protecting the space?

Probably a fair portion of them in juniors. He's a pretty athletic young lad.Littlelegs wrote:Fair enough, he definitely intended to do it, had he of made contact with the ball would there still be an argument.Lightning McQueen wrote:Apparently a couple of broken ribs and unable to play finals was the result, there was no intention to tap the ball whatsoever.Littlelegs wrote:so i am pretty old and out of touch but is that now suspension? a ruckman jumping with knee into a bigger bodied ruckman protecting the space?

The name rings a bell, not sure if it's because of his reputation or notLightning McQueen wrote:Probably a fair portion of them in juniors. I’m very torn on this one.Littlelegs wrote:Fair enough, he definitely intended to do it, had he of made contact with the ball would there still be an argument.Lightning McQueen wrote:Apparently a couple of broken ribs and unable to play finals was the result, there was no intention to tap the ball whatsoever.Littlelegs wrote:so i am pretty old and out of touch but is that now suspension? a ruckman jumping with knee into a bigger bodied ruckman protecting the space?

Regularly bigger body rucks ‘protect the space’ AKA block out other lighter rucks from running and jumping at the ball. This is what happens as a result, they jump into the ruck blocking.
I also see the argument that this was intentional and not really an attempt to tap the ball.
I’ve heard people say for years they need to change the rules so bigger rucks can’t just block out lighter rucks from getting to the ball but as far as I am aware that hasn’t happened.

probably can see them playing paper scissors rock soon instead of the rucking contest (safer, fairer)Hack wrote:I’m very torn on this one.Littlelegs wrote:Fair enough, he definitely intended to do it, had he of made contact with the ball would there still be an argument.Lightning McQueen wrote:Apparently a couple of broken ribs and unable to play finals was the result, there was no intention to tap the ball whatsoever.Littlelegs wrote:so i am pretty old and out of touch but is that now suspension? a ruckman jumping with knee into a bigger bodied ruckman protecting the space?

Great GF to watch as a neutral.
Unley all guts but Westminster a bit too much class for when it mattered

Re: 2025 Adelaide Footy League - Division 3
That's no suspension in any other league as far as I'm aware.Littlelegs wrote:so i am pretty old and out of touch but is that now suspension? a ruckman jumping with knee into a bigger bodied ruckman protecting the space?
There were two free kicks not paid for impeding the ruck, one prior to the previous ball up, where the PHOS ruck jumps straight over the Kilburn ruck and wins it easily. He's then grabbed prior to the contest in question and another PHOS player has to throw the impeding Kilburn player out the way. Kilburn ruck steps way under the ball (it lands about 3 metres away on the opposite side of the contest). It should be a free to the PHOS ruck as the rule is you can cross the path of the contest as long as you get back to the ball.
To suspend a lad for 4 games for that is out of control. As was the suspension earlier in the year when he probably should have got 1-2 for stupidity, rather than 4 for kneeing (essentially rested his knee on a guy's helmet) harder contact happens 100 times a game.

Scotch Rd 13. 5.40 into the last. Resting his knee on his head haha give me a spell
And he’s jumped into the kilburn ruck nowhere near the footy and driven his knee into his ribs
Breaking them, what planet are you on?

Deserved every week he got for both incidents. Southern tax!
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

In the words of Ray "Slug" Jordan - you gotta get the boy off.AdelaideSaint73 wrote:Scotch Rd 13. 5.40 into the last. Took ages to find it.
You set the PMs off anyway. Seems as a 19 yo he's done well. Circa 30 weeks work of Suspensions and in that 30 odd another 4 as a 16 yo using his knee. Brighton and SHOC didn't want him and Glenelg won't touch him.
Stupid ? Stupid would be 1 report for a brain fade.
I'd say the league has done at least AdFL clubs a favour but only kicked the can up the freeway down to SFL or GSFL even if they take him on.
You shouldve just shut up mate. You doth protest too much.

Ha, if he tries this in the SFL there's a fair chance the even up will be far more impactful, same would go for the GSFL. Proper big boys in the ruck.Old Red wrote:In the words of Ray "Slug" Jordan - you gotta get the boy off.AdelaideSaint73 wrote:Scotch Rd 13. 5.40 into the last. Took ages to find it.

Geez Seaton really loading up. They signed Tim Woolford from Renmark(named best player in the last 25 in the Riverland league and now signed Jake Sutcliffe from Unley.

Sutcliffe's well travelled. Seaton must have some cash to throw around.hollywood7477 wrote:Geez Seaton really loading up. They signed Tim Woolford from Renmark(named best player in the last 25 in the Riverland league and now signed Jake Sutcliffe from Unley.
