I assume recycling depots
But surely doesn’t take that long to implement changes for it
Nah it would be beverage distributors. Need to factor in the deposit to the wholesale price and give notice for everyone to adjust.

Remember a shitfight when they increased the price from 5c to 10c

There's more to it from the plants that make the bottles, they will all require new labelling to add the deposit logo on too, it has to go on every bottle and every carton that the bottles go in.

Justr a side note, cartons are always cheaper in Mildura than what they are in Renmark because of the deposits, used to make sense to stop in at Dan Murphy's before we came home.................my record was a carton of Corona's for the trip home,

The South Australian Government has announced its commitment to include all beverage containers up to three litres in the container deposit scheme (CDS), excluding plain milk.

The expansion will mean that spirit and wine bottles, juice and cordial containers and larger flavoured milk containers will all be eligible for a 10-cent refund.

These new containers are targeted for inclusion in 2027 to allow time for all impacted groups to make the necessary changes.

Can we collect the empties now for the 10 cents ?
Or wIll we need to wait until 2027, when by then the bottles will have a 10 cent refund logo on them ?

doubt very much in 2027 when you take the empties to the recycling that they will sit and check every bottle, container for the logo somehow :D :partyman:

Ex FIL filled his horse float up after a party (plus over an amount of time) and took the load of empties from Mildura to Renmark, they looked at his number plate and sent him back without unloading him

I wasn't sure where to put this but here it is.

People like Charlie Kirk are only standing up for their political beliefs, they have every right to do so. They should not be assassinated for doing so.

The reason I put this in the I rate thread is I rate the fact thousands of people marched in Australia two weeks ago standing up for their political beliefs and, bar some far right Nazi's, did so without the fear of political persecution or being assassinated.

It's an awful day for the US, it's a reminder why I rate where I live so much.

Well said Boon, I only recently stumbled across him on Youtube recently and watched a few of his uni debates, I certainly don't agree with all of his views but I respected that he listened to other opinions and engaged with them face to face, its very sad that someone cops death because he had a forthright opinion. I fear this is going to escalate over there.

Some people celebrating his death is sick also.

Even more devasting for it to happen in front of his kids and family. I wouldn't wish that part of the most heinous of criminals. No kids / wives should see their husband die like that.

True but Charlie had made a lot of people nervous. Even Trump had told Charlie Kirk to leave the Esptein File release stuff alone, to which Charlie did for a while until he said 'stuff that' and starting pushing for the release of the files.

He was also a very prominent pro Israeli activist.

Charlie had a fair few people who had reason to not like what he was promoting from all different angles.

I’ve been in Hobart without the family for just over 7 weeks, moved for work, knowing I’d be here alone the rest of this year and most of next.

My first visitor arrives tonight, my eldest daughter (16.5) flies down for the weekend.

We’ll go for a hike and do the UTAS open day - looking forward to it .

How’d you get the missus to agree to that arrangement?
