At my local, there's at least a couple of instances a year where one of the locals have lost their wallet, I've lost a few wallets over the years, I've never lost a phone.

I withdraw cash either at one of my own bank's ATMs (one of the big four so not too hard to find) or from Woolworths/Coles every couple of weeks or so.

I have never in my life paid an ATM withdrawal fee within Australia.

I'm also motivated by avoiding the fees for paying by card you get at some places, no matter how small.

Sometimes, I seem to do better on the punt when I'm in the pub using cash, so whatever works. I'm more inclined to do something constructive with my winnings if it's in cash opposed to in my phone on an app where I can dwindle it down quite easily.

Yeah right..........i'm learning lots today.

Do the pubs actually get to your ticket in time to press the button these days. Last time i was in a pub with a TAB was about 2010 and back then the bar staff always left the TAB until last second. The amount of times i missed my bet back then.....always felt like they cost you money and never saved you any.
