I don’t even carry a wallet 95% of the time … only when I know that a physical card (drivers licence or private health card) are required.

My Mum is at the other end of the spectrum, everything is cash, still has a passbook bank account and has never had a bank credit or debit card.

I sometimes can't remember where my wallet is I use it that little. Everything is on my phone.

I do weekend work on the side at times, terms are strictly cash only. The amount of people who still try to transfer me money or ask for a receipt is funny.

I find it highly amusing to watch anyone under 40 try and do maths in their head.

Been doing it for more years than I can remember, so everything is via my phone, no matter how small the payment. No-one ever bats an eyelid.

Just because it works for me doesn’t mean it’s for everyone.

I’m the same with everything else, hate paper, so as much as possible is digital. My laptop is joined to my hip for work; if people give me paper handouts I ask for the digital version, and take my laptop to all meetings.

Again, works for me but maybe not for others.

Don’t see how losing a phone is any different to losing cards or a wallet, the risks are essentially the same. In fact, it’s more secure on a phone, because someone has to bypass the biometrics to use it, whilst if they have my physical card, they can pay wave $100 at a time to their heart's content.

If I lose, drop or smash my phone or laptop (never happened yet), everything is backed up so I could buy a new one and be up and running in less than an hour, whilst deactivating the lost or smashed item. I can even track the item if it’s lost, and was able to find one of my daughter’s phone a few years ago when she lost it.

Works for me, but everyone else can do whatever they are confortable with and works for them, doesn’t matter to me.

When i see someone pay with cash i automatically think there is another sovereign citizen.

Just waiting for him to finish with the 'cash is king' line to the cashier.
