Final round for 2025

Happy Valley v Reynella - it'll be a good hitout for the Vikings but they should win this comfortably, it's their flag to lose from here.
Flagstaff Hill v Port Noarlunga - I think Porties get up here, being pretty much full strength. Flaggies with another debutant and club legend David Kearsley lining up in the A's again, they've now played as many players in the seniors as injury ravaged Essendon! Even with a Falcons win, the ladder probably wouldn't change. Apparently there's over 20 players unavailable this weekend for FH.
Cove v Morphett Vale - pointless game of the round, Cove by a heap but both sides have absolutely zero to play for, other than planning for 2026.
Christies Beach v Aldinga - Saints should get up comfortably to secure 5th spot.
Ironbank CG v Noarlunga - Shoes have to win this game by 120 points more than the Saints will beat the Sharks by to snatch 5th spot. Won't happen but technically still possible to play finals.

Weekends games went as predicted.
Clearly been a long, long, long time since the Cockledivers won at Flagstaff, going by their supporters reactions to every goal. After that game I'm 100% convinced the Vikings will win the flag in an absolute canter, Redden going down with a serious looking hammy late in the game could be costly for Porties, and Paredes finished on the bench with a foot wrapped in ice.

Interesting tidbit I heard from an pretty reliable source on Saturday.

There's a mutiny afoot at Pt Noarlunga, a group of players trying to oust Jarman as coach for next season. Hear there was a confrontation at training last week as well between one of the players and the coach. This, coupled with a few senior players already shopping themselves around for 2026, will make for exciting September viewing!

Talent-wise, the team that Jarman has purchased is more than capable of matching Happy Valley

Old mate Fitzy will be putting the feelers out with a bucket load of cash if this is the case, I predict an ex-Crows player of some sort would be on his radar. I don't know how they could hide the payments if an audit does happen, it would be another mess that Porties have created this year, if they did happen to win but something Jars is used to with creative accountancy and an SFL board that turns a blind eye.

I have heard that Jarman was up to his neck in it over the Gaza debacle, but the SANFL didn't want it playing out in the media, as he was still on air at Triple M. There were a heap of texts and emails, as there tends to be when you're cooking the books. You can't tell me Sproule goes from the AFL, to the SANFL, then to Porties, in the space of 2 years, for the love of the game...
Porties run the very real risk of sabotaging an excellent juniors program if they keep going down the path of buying senior players, only got to go a bit further down the Onka River to find out how well that pans out...

Hopefully, and it pains me to say this, Valleys keep it up and no-one gets near them this year, and Jars can find another club he can "coach" at.

Or chose to focus on his work career and a less demanding footy schedule, as opposed to the SANFL regime...

Half the work, double the salary. Smart guy!

Would have thought any involvement in footy would be hard to manage with Saturday requirements as a real estate agent, not just the SANFL.

Funny how things work out, Spoule becomes a real estate agent at the club's major sponsor who also happens to be the brother in-law of the footy director...amazing.

Sproule unlikely to be at Porties next season.
Has bought a house in the eastern suburbs.

But what about focusing on his work career, with a less demanding schedule?

Or is it the lure of the Cibo paper bags?

Port v Falcons - Port. Home deck usually a big help but WB has listed the injury crisis for the Falcons.
Wineflies v Saints. Wineflies with a comfortable win.

This would certainly explain why his face was on a few bus stops promoting Magains on Fullarton Rd
