"That's Crapp umpiring" is the cry when the umpire does a great job.

We need a Vin Camporeale appreciation thread. Pre lights at footy park, you could always spot his dome around the outer boundary, late in the last quarter of a mid-winter match.

I second that Wedgie.
I think Rutter holds the records for most game for a goal ump.

Mostyn Rutter before officiating as a Goal Umpire was a Boundary Umpire. Up to 1982 (from the 1983 Football Times Yearbook) he had officiated in 159 matches. The footnote says that includes 59 boundary. Alton Smith was also a Boundary umpire - up to the end of that season, he had officiated in 391 matches. The footnote says that 39 of these were as a Boundary umpire.
