is that six league games or does it include his two in the reserves, where he had to earn the right to wear the Bay guernsey in league game!
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

"He won't be" going anywhere this year.

"He'll be playing at Port (Adelaide) in 2026"

Kapital Sports Group's John Meesen on Zak Butters (via Gettable).

So we're getting really creative to get NAS in then.

Unless you have another A grader willing to leave I just can see how it gets done this year. Will need 2-3 firsts as an absolute minimum I’d think. Can see him signing on for 2 years at the Saints and then trying to get back after that

Mentioned yesterday that any deal with the Saints that Bergman would be a part of it.

Good player NAS but I’d be targeting key forwards and backs before him.

Rohan Marshall would be perfect as a replacement for Finlayson.

MArshall signed for 2 more years and would be first choice ruck at Port

Sorry, you think Port should be chasing key forwards / back before NAS or St Kilda should be chasing key forwards / back for him?

I think Port should be. I don’t think Port, other than Georgiadies, have much up forward. Rohan Marshall wants to be a forward who second rucks.

Backs, Aliir Alirr is a standout but is 32 next year, other than that I don’t see much else. ZT is ok, never rated Esava.

Ports problem is that they have very few players who can kick well of effectively.

They are one of the wors teams for opposition scores from turnovers. And conversely only North melb and Richmond are worse than them in scores from turnover. And they are 4th worst for kick retention according to Wheelo ratings. They cant transition the ball in the modern game

Nas is absolutely what they need, someone who can kick it to the forwards (why all bar Georgeardis look sh!te) and why their defence looks worse as more often than not they are trying to defend clean ball.

We spent the last 6 years using the same system. Win the ball at the contest ( have regularly been in the top 6 for clearances ) and bomb it to Dixon in the pockets. This did two things. If the opposition marked it was deep in the pockets, if not it brought the ball to ground where smalls could swarm and pressure the opposition and that gave our defensive zone time to set up behind the ball. Someone who did reviews on here would often talk about repeat entries. That's great, lots of I50's, not when it's crowded like that though. This didn't require accurate kicks, it required long penetrating kicks.

In one summer, post Dixon retirement, we tried to transition from that style to flicking the ball around in the back half, eyes down to mobile Lukosius, Marshall and Georgiades up front. Now, whether that new style could be adapted in one summer we won't ever know as we've not seen Marshall at all and Lukosius has been interrupted. Defensively Zerk-Thatcher and Ratugolea weren't seen until round 12 and 4 and then have been playing catch up.

The new style required the likes of Farrell, Sinn, Burgoyne, Bergman to lower the eyes and pick the moving targets. They are our best kicks but they spent too much time scrambling from the ball screaming out of our forward line after the poor entries, not having time or personnel to set up the zone.

Lots to work on this summer.

*Edit - any forward line would relish the opportunity to look up to Bergman, Wanganeen-Milera, Burgoyne, Farrell and Sinn coming at them with the ball.

St Kilda have played their hand, he hasn't signed so I think the game knows what his intentions are and it would be naive to think Cripps hasn't aired a deal to St Kilda at this point through the management teams.

So its Port or staying at Saints if a deal cant get done?
Going to be fascinating if a deal cant be reached and Adelaide can somehow get enough capital to tempt Saints and NAS
