Is it still too early to talk about Clarkson not improving the Roos?

I’ve left it another year…. It’s still too early isn’t it?

I really thought they would improve this year. Not enough to play finals but capable of 7 or 8 wins at least. Anyone that finishes below us is pretty damn ordinary

There’s some real shit teams above them so they haven’t improved
Richmond, Carlton, Essendon. Saints, Dees
Even Port
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

I'd like the AFL to try something silly like put the whole fixture out befoer the season starts rather than have a rolling fixture for them to doctor midway through the season so they can ensure the teams they want to play finals footy.

10000%, set the fixture before the season, perhaps numbering the rounds sequentially starting from 1.

With the stupid number teams, it’s impossible to have a fair fixture for all, but again, the current system is open to … let’s just say … favouritism for certain teams.

It will never, ever happen as the genie is out of the bottle, but there needs to be a reduction in teams, not further expansion to, say 16. Give the also-rans 3-5 years to sort themselves out or shut them down. The Weagles, although hopeless on the field, get diplomatic immunity as they still have 100k + members, sell out Optus Stadium, and make a motsa profit each year.
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

Was pretty similar around the covid era but apart from that and this year I don’t think I’ve seen such a clear gap between the top 9 sides and the bottom 9. Even the percentages show a clear gap of at least 16% which is absolutely staggering.

One observation I made as I haven't really paid much attention or seen many day games at the place but Geez, Kardinia Park is a fair set up, looks sensational for what was once a suburban ground.

A mate went over for yesterdays game and said getting in and out is a disaster, even the local members think they cocked it up.

There's two gates at each end and one on the wing. Reckons there were line ups at every one of them.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

Extra gates are part of the govt grants for stage 18 upgrades.

It’s surprising he got held up, he would have left at least a quarter before the Geelong fans ;)

I struggle to believe how easy the AFL has been able to push this concept through without huge uproar from the 'football world'. I couldn't even start to imagine the uproar if the EPL tried something like that.

Difference with EPL is that they all play each other twice, once home, once away, a true level playing field.

Thats what i mean and that is held as sacrilegious, if the league tried to 'make up' a fixture late in the year the country would be set on fire.
