I’ve had a safety bet on Port tonight, I think we are a chance to drop this

Tom Morris on X

Rd 9, 2020: North Melbourne defeats Adelaide by 69 on the GC. Both teams were deep in a rebuild & committed to long-term plans, asking fans for patience.

Since then:
ADE: 51 wins, 65 losses, 1 draw
NM: 16 wins, 99 losses, 2 draws

ADE: 18th, 15th, 14th, 10th, 15th, 1st*

NM: 17th, 18th, 18th, 17th, 17th, 17th*

The Crows have nailed trade & draft (admittedly bigger challenges lay ahead).

The Roos have shown incremental improvement at best (despite AFL handouts).

No two rebuilds are identical, but the contrast between these relatively concurrent resets is stark.

Yep, at this point in time … but not a lot of practical difference before this year, both were going nowhere fast.

Time will tell how this year will pan out, just don’t be like Port in September. :D

Anyway, North should have relocated to Tas years ago … X_X

Murphy, Jones and Burgess should be enough

Maybe throw in a third rounder too

Can’t see us getting him and if we do, who knows what package of picks and players it would take but you’d expect Saints would want a ready made running half back plus picks

Impressed with Adelaide’s continual improvement mindset as the season goes. This weeks game vs Hawthorn is real big as they are well and truly due for a flat week.

One guy that’s shocked me is Zac Taylor. He isn’t super elite with disposal but when ever he gets it his decision making skills ask questions of the opposition every time. If he can evolve his game to getting it 20 times each week he would cause a lot of headaches for opposition coaches. Great head on his shoulders too.
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

He asked where they could finish and how far can they go?

They're sitting 3rd with equal best percentage and have a nice run of soft and tough games ahead with the toughest ones at home and a fit list with the most damaging attack and in form.

Shrugs shoulders.

I can’t see you “shrugging your shoulders” if they meet your prediction ;)

I think Gold coast and Geelong will go past them given their softer draws and gold coasts game in hand against Essendon at home.

I was W...
I was Wr- Wr- Wr...
I was Wro....

OK after thinking 4 weeks ago the Crows were going to finish 5th-8th and bow out if they were lucky in the 2nd week, I think they make the GF from here.

They'll finish top 2 and with their games style of F50 Midfield pressure that causes turnover and with players like Peatling, Dawson, Milera and Rankine who can kick and lace out the crows forwards who are free as result of the clean ball coming in as the oppo scramble to man up after the turnover that remind me so much of Richmond in 2017.

Whilst they were playing a beaten opposition after 3 qtr time the fact you've got no names like Taylor chasing down Sinn during time on of the last to cause a turnover that a minute later leads to Soligos goal after DBJ went to water on the HBF. It's that all in team mentality to do the team pressure acts that has them primed for a a serious run in the fianls.

SO yeah Booney, you were right I was wrong, your Crows are GF bound
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
