DOC wrote:The AFL also concedes it failed to pay a free kick against McVee for "interferring with the goal post".

"Unless Law 18.12.3 applies, a field Umpire shall award a Free Kick against a Player or Official who intentionally shakes, climbs or otherwise interferes with a goal or behind post (either before or after a Player has disposed of the football)."

So it’s all squared then, play on.

I've watched every angle and not one of the three touched it. AFL saying it was touched reeks of AFL trying to give one back to Adelaide after all the f..k ups in recent years.

This is the same AFL that said the standard of umpiring has never been better. Not sure I'd take what they have to say very seriously...

Watching it live I thought it was touched…. Mainly because I assumed it must have been with 3 Melb players in the vicinity and how slowly it ballooned up and drifted through…. I assumed someone must have been able to get a finger tip on it.

Then they showed footage that showed air between all the hands and the ball and it gets over turned on that evidence…..now they are saying that decision was wrong…. There must be new footage as on what they showed and what has been circulated on socials you couldn’t over turn it (again)

Yep, never been better.
