And Jezz McLennan who took up the supplementary list option to further his AFL possibilities cannot make the team and played for Tanunda today. To all those who support this diabolical Koch inspired initiative, congratulations on wasting 12 months of Jezzas footballing journey, and depriving the Dogs of a player who would have made a difference to us. A guy who won two State BOG awards last season is playing country football...great work SANFL
Sucken de shizen Jezz!!!
Couldnt happen to a nicer prick!!!!

Why did he not play for your reserves?
He is not our player. He is a listed Port player.
I have no doubt he won't be putting himself through this next year. And anyone else thinking of opting for the supplementary draft should heed the cautionary tale.
Under the rules, when not selected for Port he can play for your reserves.Kyle Marshall has played for our reserves when not selected by Port (like yesterday).
I would suggest that Centrals have decided not to play him. I would imagine that given McLennan paid Centrals the clearance fee himself (33k) he has been left well and truly out of pocket as well.
Not wanted!!

I’m not up to speed with Marshall Doc. Is he a younger player who has been claimed by Port as someone they can use as a top up (effectively “on loan”?
I’m pretty sure there is no allowance for McLennan to revert back to Centrals given he is a top up player signed by and paid for by Port. Also pretty sure the Dogs would rather develop a junior in the reserves rather the keep an opposition player match fit!
Players win touches, Teams win matches, Clubs win Premierships.

Marshall was on the Power's AFL list for 2023-2024. Was delisted but then retained for the reserves under those additional concessions that were introduced I believe. Played his juniors at South and presumably would have returned to Noarlunga had Port not retained him?

To clarify and my mistake, Marshall plays for our reserves when not selected by Port as he is younger than 21.
Linke and McLennan play for Tanunda as they are over 21.
I had forgotten that clause when posting originally.

If you're reading this post it's not because McLennan was taken captive.
He took a risk, backed himself in and his form didn't warrant mid season selection nor did Watkins who has had a far better season.
Quit the sooking and wake up to the fact the bloke made a choice to back himself in and it hasn't worked out how he wanted it too.

Made a shitzenhousen decision and showed his true character. left his mates and club behind.
And made the comp change the rules just for him. His form and confidence have gone backwards big time.
Port are still crap and good luck getting drafted without playing finals.
He got sucked in and I am So glad he didnt get drafted.
Not sure you can blame any player for trying to achieve their goals, even if misguided.
You can achieve that goal without becoming a tool for the local afl clubs to have the SANFL change its rules to the league and your clubs detriment IMHO.
Considering Port had already tried with Grant GRace Dittmar who all said NO. He was selfish and ultimately, I thought he was better than that.
He’s not the only player in the league that would like to be on an afl list.
He looked shattered walking off Elizabeth oval with the dogs fans reminding him of what he had walked away from. I put his poor form this season down to his guilty conscience.

Spot on. It would have compounded his mood to see Liddy achieve the dream without falling for Kochs bait. I doubt any players will be tempted by Fools Gold at the end of this season.
