Didn’t look out live but DRS couldn’t be wrong.

SA 6/126
It was weird, I thought it was going well down leg live.

I’m surprised it even suggested a piece of the ball was hitting.

I will go to my grave believing that it is flawed technology.

Nah hate to break it to you but it is the old skool mythical mentality of what you use to think was hitting that stumps that is flawed. ;)

Worst part is now they can't really push Marnus out of the door for an opening role when he outscored Uzi in both innings.

No reason we can't give both the boot...

I didn't see any stats on Cricinfo unfortunately but hopefully they will have some at the end of the match.

The 5/20 lost by Australia together with the 5/12 lost by South Africa, means the bottom 5 wickets in the first innings for each side combined for a total of just 32 runs.

32 runs is the 7th lowest combined total out of the 2585 tests all time.

TDK will be happy reading a stat like that, that’s a good one.

I’m not convinced Green is a no. 3
I think he should bat 5 with possibly Smith at 3 and Head at 4

Just before stumps, they put up a graphic which had SA 55% likely to win against Aus 45%.

Unless all of a sudden the pitch doesn’t seam and the ball stops moving around, more likely Aus 60-70%, SA 40-30%

Maybe batsmen could bat better I suppose … :-??

Bookies betting $1-50 an OZ win
Thats 66.66% probability
66.66% is close to the midpoint Dedja posted of OZ between 60-70%

I agree with the Bookies and Professor Dedja

I'm not a huge fan of it either, but I think it's the way they'll go.

As much as I agree with you I would hate to see Head move from 5, he has been our most consistent batter over the past few years, to change what isn't broken to try and fix something else, focus on the problem.

I'd open with Kez for now.

Uzi
Carey
Mc Sweeney
Smith
Head
Green
Webster
Cummins
Starc
Lyon
Hazlewood

Succession plan would be Konstas to take over from Uzi, the Windies would be a good time to trial it.

Not all is lost for Uzi, he got an all expenses paid trip to the UK, visited McLaren F1 headquarters and knocked around with Oscar, so overall a win.

Just needs to work a bit on his day job :-s

Top 3 has been a problem for a while now, used to be top 4 with Smith seemingly on his way out but he’s proved us wrong by being the rock lately, but he won’t be around for too much longer. The pickings are slim to replace blokes who would normally have been long gone, but here we are.

Despite their batting being more brittle than thin caramel shards, this team keeps winning off the back of a world class bowling attack. Can’t keep doing this forever, so the dam must surely burst at some stage.

Don’t see Green and Webster in the same team long term, McSweeney needs a big step up to be considered again, and Konstas is well, Konstas.

The short term match by match planning by Ronald McDonald is somehow working. :-??

I just saw that incident with handling the ball. It would have been controversial, but sorry that is out every time. Ball was not lodged in the pad.

Umps took the safe option, probably don’t blame them, but as I posted last night, dumb, dumb, dumb thing to do the way he handled it.
