We paid him to play for us not them.
So we lose out for paying someone who isnt even going to be with us

If Port take Liddy you get a transfer fee ( Maybe 20K ?) . Also as neither Port side will be playing finals, he will be eligible to come back and play for Centrals in the finals.

So we get Jezza, Linke & Liddy back for the finals.
And Dudley next year.

It's only $10k.

Monaghan for Liddy and possibly East for Thomas.
At the start of the year Monaghan was going to be in our best 22.
Just can't stay healthy since coming to the club.
If only Sharp was available.
Pearce a possibility to replace Thomas, but hasn't done enough in the reserves.
Do they bring Harvey Howe back in?
We really do need another key position player.

I didn't think that Mani Liddy was either.
He's not in the top 10 for disposals this season.
I guess a handful of good games is all it possibly needs.

He's been good for us, not "dominating" at all. 22.6 average disposals, 5 clearances, less than a goal a game and about 4 marks per game, at 184cm not a big midfielder. Anyway, Port gets to boost the depth of their reserves. The old system was so much better, for all stakeholders.

I believe he is good enough. His 22 disposals are worth more than others who gain 30+ possessions. He is a run and carry players with ability to hit targets at pace. The stat that he would be leading in week in week out is metres gained.
In the style of Rozzee and Butters, he could make the grade. Especially if he continues to progress as he has over the past 6 months.

I would have fully expected him to be drafted later this year. Just really disappointed that we dont get to see him play our this season; just as our midfield was looking capable of matching the best, we are hit with a major blow.

Kendall injured this week, so a 3rd replacement needed.
Reckon East and Monaghan are both in our top 22 and they should come in. Also appears a youngster to debut as the 3rd.
Would love to see Mihail come up but he needs a couple of ressie games under his belt.

Jayden caught my eye playing 18’s.. and I think did ok in the U/20 team a couple of weeks ago. Interesting choice given Howe has played the last 3-4 ressies games and would have perhaps thought he was higher up the pecking order..
Players win touches, Teams win matches, Clubs win Premierships.

Jezza could walk out on Port before 30th June and re-join Centrals

4 changes for Dogs.
Liddy, Thomas, Kendall (prob one week) and one significant other (who will miss at least 4).

5 weeks with no changes and then 4 in one week. Ouch.

That tips the balance if the best player in the contest withdraws.

Advantage Dogs.
