Just a reminder of the penalties received for the exact same offence

To be fair that payment to Tippett was $200k and they attempted to tamper with the draft by agreeing to his terms in his contract.

This Geelong case appears to be several figures in and around the $10-20k mark. Not exactly the same but the penalties are grossly unders if we're to believe what has been reported.

Tippett did sone work for that money; advertising, appearances, “Tippett Tips (just that embarrassment was worth $200k), do the Geelong players do anything?

Thought Tippetts payment was 30k from balfours that was not disclosed, but yeah the punishment was related to the clause in his contract to be traded for a 2nd rd pick

The AFL really have it in for us.
Our fixture on the run home is tough.
Think we might be able to hold onto 8th spot

Now it seems Bailey Smith will only get a "don't do it again" over his nose beers comment on socials.

I know it's not right but geez we've become a very weak society, the game needs some individuality and it was a classic comeback comment.

The dude is rough around the edges but what you see is what you get, I love the way he backs it up on the field, he'll end up with a massive career after footy.

I agree to an extent, but promoting drug use is too far. All these young kids growing mullets, wearing headbands, now see their hero talking about drug use can only go one way

Serious? The bloke has a history of mental health issues and rumored drug use, to put himself in the spotlight like that shows how dumb he must be. He'll be pissing in jars every weekend now and as MW notes, kids who admire his on field persona are laughing at the prospect of nose beers after a match.

Also makes a mockery of the AFL's drugs policy, the players are waving baggies in it's face.

Pffft! It's rife at any sporting club, if they want to take drugs, they will. Do more tests, if he gets caught then it's his bad luck.

Yep, Smiffy's a dick but **** he can play. And everyone has the tissues out because he plays for a club that has won a massive one premiership in 10 years. Imagine how salty everyone would be if we could actually win finals? Smiffy not doing anything that a few other big names haven't done before, but he's not smart enough to STFU about it. As for the Cats cooking the books, my understanding is the main snafu involved someone in our women's team. I think it's great that you blokes have finally embraced the women's comp and your collective interest in the mighty Geelong Football Club warms me to my ancient bones. I'm old enough to remember when we weren't worth hating. Good times.
